THE LONGEVITY CALCULATOR
This Calculator is based on a quiz Harvard Medical School researchers Thomas Perl, M.D. and Margery Hutter Silver, Ed.D. developed to help you calculate your life expectancy. The quiz was developed after a rigorous study of 150
centenarians.
To compute your life expectancy, the calculator adds all of the individual
score points together. The result may be negative, zero, or a positive
number. The calculator program then divides the result by 5. The result of
this division is then added to 84 if male or 88 if female, producing life
expectancy in years.
Calculate your longevity:

nah...Already told ya...If you go first im killing myself. :P hahahha
I should try that test again in a few years and see what it says then, considering our life style will hopefully change in about 5yrs. Already eating better which is a good start.

You'd probably be able to add some years on for all the medical advances that will happen during that time. Unless we blow ourselves up or totally fuck the joint up with pollution.

I wanna be a cyborg..But I wanna wear clothes.
Yeah medically this world is getting better. Many diseases are being ridden of which is good when it comes to our youngys. Even at my age now I might just get a hint of all the good stuff to happen, then I'll pop off into the unknown.

If I live to be over 70, I'll be pretty pleased with that. I'll just be interested in seeing what kind of things they come up with to help old folks get around.

I take all this stuff with a pinch of salt. Even though it's by some group of Harvard phd bods and their studies. The 'quiz' wont take previous and future lifestyle changes into account, also renob might get hit by a truck, buggers his test up then don't it.
btw It reckons I'll live to 87.

84. But I'm pretty sure I'll die of cancer or something about 70. (Hopefully not) I'd love to live till 84+ but only if I was well enough to enjoy life rather than be sitting in a hospital bed.

I got 88 but things will hopefully change soon. When i reach 15 I can get a membership at the gym, when I get older I will drink more tea aswell andnone of my parents are dead and no grandparents are older than 76 yet.

The older you get the worse your result will be. You'll be able to legally drink. You'll do more stupid things like try drugs, have unprotected sex maybe and generally just live a bit more wreckless due to the fact you're old enough to engage in more adult activities, also pollution levels will of risen etc.
You will suffer from lots more stress due to work, more responsibilities etc. Drinking coffee gives -3 because of all the caffeine etc, but drinking tea everyday is bad.
I dont know why it gives +3, unless its talking about herbal teas etc. You're english like me, so normal tea to us is sweet and milky with normal tea bags, if you drink that stuff everyday its not necessarily a good thing. Tea stops the absorbtion of iron from your foods, which in turn lowers haemoglobin iron levels. The lower that level is, the more likely you will become anemic.
(Thats what they told me when I give blood) By the way, giving blood makes you healthier. It makes you fitter because your body is functioning normally whilst missing a litre of blood (so basically its like blood doping that athletes do to cheat) and it also causes the body to create new healthy blood and generally promotes better health - so do this if you want to raise your death age a bit :)
Anyway, my point being, if we all did the test at your age we would all get a high result, but the older you get the worse your health becomes just due to your changing everyday life, let alone natural reasons. Dont want to put a downer on you living long though mate :p

I think tea is +3 because it calms the body and believe it or not, becuase it is usually hot it refreshes you better. The actual tea is good it's the stuff you put in it that's bad. I have no sugar and very little milk in mine.

isn't the average life expectancy something like 70-75? yet everyone's answer on here is in the 80s and up. either we're all health nuts (doubtful, this is an internet forum after all, which are notorious for being havens of scum and villainy and couch potatoes) or this thing is way off.

I somehow doubt it will be anywhere near to being correct. Even if 10/10 random age predictions it gave, were actually right, I'd believe it to be coincidence. I dont think it will even get one right however.

Antioxidants. Good for the blood pressure, among other things.
High levels in black tea (enough to counter, or at least do some good against comparatively low caffeine levels compared to say, coffee), HighER levels in green tea, which is actually just black tea that hasn't been cooked up, distilled and fucked with...retains much of its natural "good stuff".
You wouldn't milk green tea, and I find I use less sugar (but then again, I use a green tea and jasmine blend, naturally sweeter and nicer)...but yes, you had a point, when you add milk to black tea it, the fat cells do something and makes the antioxidant levels kind've die...not totally, but the introduction of fat definately makes it not SO good. The more milk, the less "goodness".
As for sugar, well, we all know that one.
So, if you're gonna drink black tea with milk and sugar, the best way, or at least the healthiest way would be to make the tea strong, add only a little milk (don't have it "white", if it's still something of an orange colour, it's ok), and yknow lessen the amount of sugar you have in it, which is something you can get used to pretty easily.
Fuck all those fake sugar things...generally they do more harm than good, while not containing the things people want to avoid by not eating sugar, they sure do contain a lot of other chemicals.
But yeah...tea = antioxidants = good.
They say if you have a half glass of red wine once a day, it's also good, for the same reasons.

Can't say I wasn't surprised by the answers...but then, I did say answers indicating that I eat pretty healthy, no pollution, excersize 3 times a week...that's not some huge effort...I mean I still wrote that I was a couch potato and overweight (actually, I don't think I'm THAT overweight as 20 pounds, but I didn't wanna do the pounds vs kilos thing...)...actually, I think I used to be overweight...the scales have been more in my favour lately, bigtime, all the same, I still indicated that I was (old habits)...I ticked the tea thing as I LOVE tea...and went against the coffee thing, as much as I love it, I next to never drink it anymore....oh, and I think one of the beggining questions, the charring of meat/fish has something to do with it too...from what I've learned, supposedly if there's an overabundance of carbon levels in your food, that's bad...but yeah...I ticked "bad" stuff and "good" and still got 80+...I wonder what it'd say if you went into the test and chose nothinig but the "bad answers"...
Update: The answer is 61...that's pretty high for a person who does nothing but the wrong things, hm?
Yeah, like I said, I make over 70, I'm cool with that.

.
Yeah, whenever I go around my nan's she only lets me drink tea, water and milk (as well as some fruit juices) because she works for this network marketing place called neways. Scientists have proved newaysare the healthiest products in the world. Anyway, from there she learnt about aspartame. It's basically a sweet legal poison. If you see any drink with the word "diet" in it and many more drinks it almost definetely has aspartame in it.
As for the 70-75 thing, i think that may only be due to all the suicisides, road accidents, murders etc.
My great nan smoked, did some minor drugs in her youth, drunk, wasn't all that healthy and she lived to 98.
