Prom Night remake in 2005. It's supposed to be more of a revisioning that a straight-forward remake.

Yeah I saw that they were redoing a whole bunch of old horror movies in the next few years. Such as "Wicker Man", Dawn of the Dead", and "Amityville". I don't know how I feel about any of these remakes but "Dawn of the Dead" and my opinion from the movie trailer wasn't good. But then again I'm bias because the movie is in my top 5, I live 10 min away from where they filmed it, and lastly and most important the movie is a masterpiece and I don't see how they can make it any better. The last reason is also what kept me away from the "TCM" remake, although I'm sure I'll rent it in the future. It seems to me that Hollywood is afraid of the sequel curse so there just gonna call everything a remake or another's translation of the story. I just hope they don't go nuts with it because we need fresh ideas as well, not just a bunch of script rewrites.

It's official. Hollywood is out of ideas.

A remake sounds good to me though...eh heh.

I can do without a "Prom Night" remake and remakes of any other film. Give me the original or give me death. The originals are classics and I won't go near the theater or video store in search of "TCM", or "PN" or any other attempt to to destroy some of my favorite horror films. Hollywood please give us something new and fresh. This coming from a guy who's anxiously awaiting Halloween 9 or Freddy Vs. Jason 2. Sigh. Well at least they aren't remakes. Re-hashes perhaps but not remakes.

ITs like seeing a movie made from a book it will always be no where near as good as the orginal because you will always compare it with very high standards

The Wendy Lyon nude scene in the 2nd one didn't hurt matters any. I mean, hey, she was a NATURAL blonde.

I think a remake of PROM NIGHT is a great idea. PROM NIGHT is my fav. horror movie from the 80s.

I don't see why people seem to have a problem with remakes if you don't want to see it then don't. I also don't think remakeing a movie destroys the original movie, you can always watch the original movie. I'm not saying that all movies should be remade but some movies can be made better if the remakes are done right.
