Is Saddam REALLY Dead?

Here are some points that have been made:

1) They wrapped a black scarf around his neck before they put the rope on...No one seems to know WHY they did this...Some believe that there was a collar of some sort (possibly metal) inside it so that the rope wouldn't tighten around his neck

2) They filmed the rope being put around his neck, but nothing after the lever was pulled...He wasn't filmed hanging

3) They showed one quick shot of him wrapped in a shroud with his eyes closed and a little bit of blood on the right side of his head

4) He had far too many allies, followers, and too much money to REALLY be put to death

5) He wasn't even concerned that he was about to die...He argued with some of them when someone said that he "ruined Iraq", and that was about it

6) They refused to hang him outside in public because they claimed that it would upset the Sunnis, yet they broadcasted it from inside a cement walled room where the Sunnis could watch it on tv

7) There were no Americans present to witness or verify anything, they said, "The Americans weren't even in the building"

8) He has always had a lot of 'doubles'

9) There were 2 other guys that were supposed to be hanged with him, on the same day, in the same place...Yet they changed their plans and decided they would hang the other 2 on a different day, claiming that they "didn't want to detract from the historical significance of Sadam's execution in any way"

Here are some links questioning his death...There are already several PAGES of these links from various places around the 'net:

If he's really not dead (I think he is) than at least he can't continue to commit the crimes he had commited before. Either way I beieved he's been silenced.

I have to admit, I thought it was a little weird (the video) a coincidence that they seemed to be filming him, stands up, noose around the neck, then the guy aims the camera at the floor for about 20 seconds, then back up, then snap...you see someone falling at very least, but don't see anyone dangling or whatever...not that I'd personally start assuming he ISN'T dead, but I mean c'mon, you telling me the only camera ANYONE had in that place was whatever peice of shit the guy behind the cam had?

I'm not a conspiracy theorist at all, but it makes sense.

#1 They would never allow a scarf around someone's neck during a hanging, because of the steel collar and tube device.
#2 He has a lot of followers
#3 The corruption runs pretty deep

I don't know... Looked like he had the device on his neck (Usually doesn't help the victim... bribe money poorly spent I guess haha), saddam is perfectly crazy so I don't think the fact that he didn't look worried means anything. It was a really poorly done video... the quality, the points of interest (the floor?!?) everything.

It was a standard drop hanging which would be the only one you could successfully fool the world with. Then again, it's called "standard" for a reason.
He was unconcious immediately after the drop which isn't unusual, which probably means he broke his neck. Video was really shitty though, anything is possible to fake.

NOW if this was an impalement, I'd totally be able to debunk any theories. :D

You can sort of make your own decisions...

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hanging

It gives you a list of countries that use hanging. Iran will make you sick, because the last people hanged were recent and also young teenagers: 2 boys experimenting with their sexuality or just homosexual and a young woman (I think she was between 14 and 16) not acting chaste. Hanged all three of them. Publicly.

The black scarf was supposedly the hood that he refused to wear.

I have a link that we found on another board. It's to a video from a cell phone or something and it shows him falling through, then it moves around a bit and goes black a couple of times and then shows a view of his upper body and head with the noose around his neck and his head is twisted to the side.

Here's the link. Don't anybody get mad at me for posting it. http://pandachute.com/videos/leaked_saddam_being_hung_video

Don't know if it proves anything or not. You be the judge.

For the most part, a hanging can be a completely dramatic death. The build-up for such a one evokes resentment and sometimes sympathy and empathy both as the procedure reaches its climax.
Also, it can be easily faked by protecting the neck by any means possible from breaking. Hence it is easy to be used as a public-emotion evoking tool and faking a death both.
In Saddam's case, it may have been a masterstroke. I wont be surprised if Saddam turns up well and truly alive after a few years, but then, I m still firmly believing that he might as well be dead.
In either case, he will stay away from any sort of spotlight now, IMO.
