10am NYE (day) here now...
Starting to prepare some food and plan coctails and mixers for later.
Just hanging out here, 4 to 6 people in total depending on what happens...
Got a dvd movie trivia game ("scene it"...you guys have that?) and we're getting
one of those nasty games or toys that delivers electric shocks...all riding out to somaplace we can see fireworks (relatively) locally too.
Probably watch the broadcasted fireworks too, play games, watch a movie...downloading the new rocky one now...and myself and at least one of the guys that's coming are gonna be acting like complete fucking idiots, hurting eachother in a variety of ways, and filming it (I wanna see if I can get him to shock his balls...yeck!)...the other friends, we'll probably be making angry, but that's always fun while drunk too.
Jose Cuervo gold, creme de menthe, chocolate mudslide stuff, a GIANT bottle of stones ginger wine, 2 big flavoured champage wanna-be's, 2 bottles of white, one of red, blue curacao, fresh and frozen fruits to blend up, and a friend bringing more wastage too...so, probably gonna be a little too far towards trashed to post anything later on in the evening (unless it's rwelkjbh ser sduo[8hj43[g /km; jsb'vioqafhbaipuhaeg' er g [9aweujg[ineeb wD;OUqwbrfulyvsgxyldzrh g.s) ...so...

HAPPY NYE ALL,
Best wishes to you and yours for a safe, fun night...and a quick uncomplicated recovery.;)
Later.

I also have a date with Senor Jose in gold lame, a girl called Martini, a possibly a randy buttery nipple... hell... there are a bunch of interesting "people" at the bar waiting to dance with me tonight. (Maybe a little honky tonk with Mr. Jack Daniels, but I don't know...)

Hate beer, but liquor...It knows how to throw a party.

Anyway... Happy New Years, to our Lads and Lasses in the Southern Hemisphere. Kick up a jam! Love to be a fly on the wall. (Lala, be a dear, and aim for the head for me, would you. Oh, and make it a custard. Thanks.)

As for the rest of you, I'll wait until it's closer until it's time.

Editted for bragging rights:

I will not be having Jose Cuervo Gold tonight. Noooo. He's coming to me Essspeciiiial!;) *key in Mariacha band* The rest of you may enjoy your...sort of good tequilla.

Also, I will be ending the evening with a glass of emerald green absinthe.

Tata kiddies...! *blows kiss*

Had a pretty good night...can't say I slept very well.
We drank some great coctails, and some average coctails (glad mine was like the best...) and some cool shooters, smoked alotta weed, shot some Jose, and got pretty trashed.
One thing discovered: tequila + watermelon juice = really good. I mean there was other stuff in my one, but those were the two main elements.
Another thing learned: I'm never putting the electric shock arm wrestling set on my dick again...and I'm thinking that I don't know if I'll EVER be drunk enough to try it on my balls. The shock wrist things were actually a bit dissapointing...I've felt stronger, but hey, we had a few fun challenges.
The fireworks were pretty decent as always, but I'm really at the point where it's all just the same again to me. Had a water baloon fight, but it seems like whoever was responsible for filling 'em up didn't fill them up enough (I SAID I thought they looked too small) so, basically we just ended up throwing them at eachother, which kinda hurt when they bounced off...it was funny all the same.
The food was like unbelievably good, there's more coming today that we couldn't have been fucked doing last night.
"Scene it" was a little dissapointing, as we got a version (for some reason) without the board...but according to the game you can play t with, or without...it just seemed a little confusing and lacking in structure to actually play...ah well, maybe trying it out while not completely toasted will yeild better results. If not, hey, it's at very least a decent giveaway.
We did some other stuff, but right now it's kinda hazy...I know I got "from dusk til dawn" on HDD, so it'll be the first film we watch in 2007, seems like a good enough candidate.
Made it 'til around 3am, but yeah, everyone was damn near alcohol-retarded by that point, and we'd all woken up like between 8 and 10am the morning before...
All in all it was an uneventful, but fun night - Good drinks, good weed, good food and company, and not being part of the 1million+ people stuck together at the elbows in sydney harbour, I pity them...
Best of all, plenty of alcohol and weed left for today.
Anyways, happy NY again...I dunno what the timing is anyplace else, so I'll just make that a blanket statement for all.
Da,m, I really gotta piss...

Waiting for 8PM to roll around.

Found this in some British news paper. Thought it might interest someone.

The Devil Devides Scotland From England
Until a generation ago, the two principal tribes in these islands had a wholly divergent approach to the year's final week. The English celebrated Christmas, a jollity that they had spent centuries in embellishing. But there was no public holiday on New Year's Day.
In Scotland, that was the most sacred holiday of them all, while Christmas was a normal working day. The Scots were suspicious of Christmas. The "mas" bit sounded Popish, and it was all bound up with the New Testament. The Scots preferred the Old one.
Over the past few decades, the ceremonies would appear to have converged, as the whole nation closes down for a fortnight. Yet there are still profound differences, expressive of national character: and the English do not know how to celebrate the New Year.
Christmas, as the English have perfected it, is a festival of light. So it should be, given its theological origins. Despite the best efforts of the commercialisers and the politically correct, it has not lost all contact with them. There are lights everywhere, and the main Christmas meal tends to be at lunchtime, so that it can at least start in the daylight.
The English try to celebrate New Year in a similar spirit. There is an expansive dinner followed, perhaps, by a slight hiatus, until 12 strikes and the jollity regains momentum, no doubt assisted by champagne corks.
It is all very different in North Britain. Whether or not it is linked to the winter solstice, the festival of Hogmanay has little to do with Christianity. The very name points to profoundly pagan origins and its meaning is lost in antiquity. Any suggestion that it means "all men drink like hogs" is Sassenach slander.
Hogmanay is about darkness. It is a ceremony based on the three "Ds": the dark, the devil and the dram. That is why a proper Scottish New Year does not start until midnight. The previous hours are spent lining the stomach with heavy food and non-alcoholic beverages, such as wine, so that the innards are fortified against the onslaught of the whisky bottle.
Then midnight strikes: the blackest hour, when the forces of darkness dominate. How to repel them? Strong drink, strong men, who go in procession from house to house, bearing bottles of whisky and lumps of coal. The darkest-visaged is chosen to put the first foot across the threshold, so that, however black the features, it will be a friendly first foot — and not Satan. The first foot's lump of coal is a harmless addition to the domestic hearth, not fuel borrowed from the infernal furnaces.
So Hogmanay may have some tenuous links with Christianity. It appears to draw from the two elements which the Scots always found most inspiring: hell fire and the devil. In the spirit fired up from eternal conflict, the Scots spend the first six hours or so of the New Year keeping the de'il at bay with their equivalent of a crucifix and garlic: whisky. The word "whisky" is a corruption of the Gaelic for the water of life: its vital function on New Year's morn.
After a rest for sleep and rehydration, Hogmanay resumes around lunchtime on January 1, just to ensure that the devil has been kept off the premises. In recent years, January 2 has also become a virtual holiday in Scotland and one can understand why. It is not actually known as liver-function resumption day, but that is the general idea.
This is not to say that there will be no hangovers in England this Tuesday. But there is a crucial difference. A hungover Englishman is merely a victim of overindulgence. A Scots hangover is a war wound, mightily earned in a desperate combat with the hosts of hell.
The English celebrate New Year as if they were Hobbits in Tolkien's Shire; the Scots celebrate Hogmanay as if they were Aragorn on the frontier of Mordor. Long may the difference continue. Happy New Year.

My last 2 cents for the evening...and they're pretty gloomy (goddamnit)...

If this headache (have chronic headaches and migraines...no one's perfect) doesn't go away, I'm in for a very boring and painful eve. If superstition has anything to say, this will be my fate all of 2007. Joy.

Have a good one, crew.

And fear not - the headache is the LAST one of a tough year and has no bearing on the light in your future. I send my very best wishes to you this new year... I feel something quite special in it for you;)

Thank you, Rod. I hope it comes in the form of me getting this short story finished, polished, and published. With you drinking to me, that's a sign of success!

However, the headache receeded around the 2006's final curtain call, so Jose and I danced four tangos and then I had a glass of Absinthe (what poor tortured whiney poet could not have Absinthe?).

It's going to be interesting watching you guys sort of change and some of you blossom in the coming days.

I don't know where my brother got it. I think he smuggled it in from England. It's pretty good. You know it's got that anise flavor, and I'll tell you this for nothing, it's some potent shit. I drinking it out of a sifter, it nearly burned my nasal passages.

I know that you can make it, but be careful, every girl of the "Art" knows her herbs. Too much wormwood can be a little bit really bad for you. Get a good recipe and grow your own wormwood.

Thanks again for thinking of me, Rod.:)
