We all have concerns about people being attacked on here. Most of us have done it to eachother a number of times but horror is still holding up after. Vodstok had some good methods for dealing with situations like this over on his site...I think the long and short of it is, if certain posters like these two idiots were clearly seen for the clowns they were, not contributing anything relevant, or even interesting (I mean c'mon, dick jokes and schoolyard shit?), and more or less trolling the place, insulting people, and here pretty much to attentionseek by instigating trouble...and that they've both been banned before for similar incidents, a ban on site would be issued and actually backed up rather than backed down from...then the problem would be dealt with.
Sure, the sad losers would probably be able to come in and make all of one post before it was clearly obvious who they were, but I think that the thought of them sitting in their bedrooms stewing over "how unfair it is" that they lost their platform to bask in some kind of, ANY kind of the attention that they're unworthy of in their "lives"...probably sit down sobbing at their screens.

From experience I would say the problem is not your supposed lack of wanting to conform to whatever, but rather your instinctive sole purpose of trying to be coarsely and monotonously offensive (from a quick look over your posts so far) but with no substance or drive behind any of it at all.

Now, Ive never been a mod here, but Ive moderated smaller forums before. Maybe its different here, but I highly doubt it: Banning someone takes a grand total of 20 seconds (at most) to click a couple buttons. I agree with you Rayne that they'll just keep coming back, but if you start banning them on sight, what harm would it do? It's not like its strenuous or anything, and not hard at all to recognize these jokers when they sign up. Banning on sight keeps them off the forum for awhile, and eventually they'll get bored/discouraged and leave.

With more mods, there would be more chance of a mod being around when a troll makes their new account, so they really could be banned on sight.

When we requested the power to IP ban people 2 years ago (when Horror actually WAS posting in the moderator forum, and communicating with us)...He told us the reason HE didn't feel that IP banning was necessary was:

1) "What if another (innocent) user wants to visit the forum at the home of the IP banned person, and they are restricted because of someone else?"...He said that wasn't fair

2) "Many times IPs are random, and a person gets a different one every time he signs in, and in those cases it wouldn't even work"...I have NO clue what he was talking about there

3) "Everyone deserves another chance"...He truly believed that if someone were banned, they would straighten up so that they wouldn't be banned again:rolleyes:

4) "How bad could it possibly get?", "How much 'damage' could a couple of irritating people really cause?, it's ONLY an internet forum"...This just shows that he doesn't spend any time AT this forum


So yeah, if the other mods (mod) agreed, we could ban them 50 times a day...But, who has that kind of time?...It takes THEM just as much time to create a new screen name, as it takes for us to ban them...I DO like a lot of games, but that one sucks

I'll admit that I have trolled at forums before (and not only the time that you told me to stop:p), and from personal experience after being banned once or twice and having to make new accounts, the fun goes away FAST. Most sites (Pretty sure HDC does this?) need to send a verification email...so everytime you get banned, you need to make a new hotmail account, too. Way more work than its worth. Id say a few bannings would be enough to keep most anyone away, for awhile at least.

So yeah, if the other mods (mod) agreed, we could ban them 50 times a day...But, who has that kind of time?...It takes THEM just as much time to create a new screen name, as it takes for us to ban them...I DO like a lot of games, but that one sucks

Hence why I say we need more mods. Even if they DO keep coming back, mods will be here to stop 'em. Couple extra mods to take the workload off you and Zwoti, ad poof. Pest problems solved.

But hey, like I (and others) have said: the Ignore feature works miracles. Better than nothing:)

I mentioned it before too, but if you just "actually" ignore them, just sort of tune them out, it's possible you'll stop caring, and you'll see their comments here and there but it won't affect you.

I've tried very hard to ignore the whole situation. It does make me spend less time here though, because you can only read so much stupidity before it starts stunting your brain function.

Honestly, BigLoader sucked royally and I hated his posts. Renob came along, and I'm almost positive it's the same guy, but he tried to behave for a while and now he's upset because of all the hostility directed towards him so he's showing out.
