The THING...100% re-telling of the actual events the gov't doesn't want us to know.

Might want to pick up a guide to creating a proper sentence using the English language also?

I can only think of the serial killer flicks like Henry, Ted Bundy and the Hillside Strangler. Not really straight up horror but whatever.

Not so much horror, but the original KING KONG...all that really happened in the 1920's or so.

Poor guy... Probably had no clue he would have to wait so long for real answers :)

Henry barely qualifies as "based on true events". It is slightly more related to its "real world" inspiration than Texas Chainsaw massacre, mostly because the characters are named after and very vaguely similar to their real-life counterparts.

Mostly because there are actual animal killings featured on film. Even if it's not been banned in one particular country, a lot of them only offer the cut version. The new special addition (which I currently bought) has the option of watching the film without the animal cruelty scenes as well as the full, uncut version.

PR3SSUR3 wrote a brilliant piece on Cannibal Holocaust, which you can read in this thread (http://www.horror.com/forum/showthread.php?t=26209).

CH was alright....better than JH.

i really dont like Deodato. Before i watched Jungle Holocaust, he was on screen saying..."i had nothing to do with the animal killing on this movie...i told them not to put it in there" sounds like a load of bullshit

i really dont like Deodato.

I haven't been very impressed with his work. I've got Bodycount and Cut and Run which were average as hell (I think my versions are cut tho).

The fact of the matter is there are alot of horror movies that are based on true events but have been changed so drastically that its laughable that people would even consider to make that claim!
