One word. "Unbeleivable". Im not a gamer, and honestly I dont play games. The only game I ever play is Madden. I bought the 360 the day it came out and I played it the 1st day and it has been picking up dust ever since. So the PS3 and the Wii come out. I have to words for the PS3, "Blow Me". No way in hell will I ever pay $600 for a system I know I wont even use. Than here is the Wii, a measly $250. Now $250 is alot of money but compared to PS3 and 360 it's nothin. I called around and I finally found a store that actually had 2 in stock beleive it or not. Ive been playing it the last couple of hours and as I said before "Unbeleivable". I think I'm just so amazed because I'm not a game person and for me to like almost every game I have played so far is unreal for me. All the games feel like you are actually in the game. I was playing Tennis and I'm actually moving back and forth moving my arm back to hit the ball. This system is a blast. I also just now found out that you can download every Nintendo game for free and play them on the Wii. Time for some Super Punch-Out baby. Anyways just wanted to tell ya....Wi......definately worth the money and 360 and PS3 can suck it.

I agree about the PS3, but I really like the 360. I'll probably end up getting a Wii, but I was disappointed with the shitty graphics on the Wii. Anyway, what games have you played on Wii?

See now I'm the type where I dont care about graphics UNLESS the are phenominal and high-tech, just down right crazy. Ive played 360 and PS3 and in my opinion the graphics suck. Considering that the graphics are not that great I'm gonna Wii it up. No, the graphics in Wii are no where near like 360 or PS3 the gameplay is great. 99% gameplay and 1% graphics for me. I could care less about graphics if the gameplay is good. I have played Call Of Duty 3, Madden 2007, Tennis, Bowling, and Far Cry.

Bowling on the Wii is incredible...
Step brother and my family both got a Wii and EVERYBODY (even people you couldn't handle Mario) loves it. It's just a lot of fun.

We haven't been able to find one yet, but I want one so bad! I'm having Mario Party withdrawals.

I was a little concerned about the launch titles. They tend to gravitate toward T and E ratings, right? Zelda of course looks fantastic, but does it look like it will be a good landscape for T and M rated games? Not that the gore is everything, mind you, but there have been quite a few M rated stand outs and it seems like dodging M rated games might be a bad decision for developer support.

Nintendo has a track record of trying to keep things family friendly. They had the "watered down" versions of Mortal Kombat, remember.

That being said, they have created a platform that screams for some m-rated games.... could you imagine a game where you play a slasher on that thing?

I want to get a Wii but since I heard it didn't have any online play that pretty much killed it for me.Plus i've heard about alot of people getting injured playing the game from all the swinging of the arms and hitting fans and bulbs and what not.
I have to say I'm pretty satidfied with my 360 and will be for quite some time.

To me, the gimmick is only fun if you're hanging with mates, having beers. I'm mostly an RPG guy, which makes me a solitary gamer for the most part. I hope they come out with a regular controller for people who don't want to set about in their skivvies, waiving their arms around like an epileptic trying to cast spells. It seems so unwholesome.

It can be used as a regular gamepad, it has the buttons on the controller.

Next time i would recommend taking OFF the ski mask, and dont shout and wave the gun like that, it makes people nervous.

I won't be getting a Wii. If I'm playing video games, I want to be sitting on my ass moving my thumbs an index fingers. If I want to play tennis or bowl or stab people with a sword, I'll just go do that for real. The sole exception to this is Guitar Hero. That game's just fun

I also just now found out that you can download every Nintendo game for free and play them on the Wii
Unless I've missed something I really don't think I would have, this isn't the case.
They ARE available, yes - nes, snes, n64 (and backwards compatability with the gamecube games which you'll just buy in their original condition), also NEC's turbo-grafx-16, Sega master system and sega megadrive...as well as that, I think I may have missed a console or two in there. However, they're not free...as far as I've heard, nintendo is doing something like world of warcraft style "points" cards, each game being worth a different amount of points.
The old stuff should be fairly cheap though, and worthwhile if it's something you really want (I can think of more than a few for me).

That being said, they have created a platform that screams for some m-rated games.... could you imagine a game where you play a slasher on that thing?
Red Steel looks pretty M rated? I would imagine call of duty 3 is too.
I have a feeling that there might be some issues with the controllers initially, one of the reasons I'm waiting (at the edge of my patience) a little while to pick this up. Agreed...nintendo needs to "grow up" a little if it's gonna secure an ongoing place this gen-'round...of course, the gamecube had a few more adult titles, I'd assume this one will have a few more.

It can be used as a regular gamepad, it has the buttons on the controller.
Or there's the "classic" controller thing, that looks more or less like the snes controller did.

I want to get a Wii but since I heard it didn't have any online play that pretty much killed it for me.
Doesn't mean it WON'T. Took Sony long enough to get the ps2 stuff online, hm? Besides, I dunno where you're hearing this from, but I'd assume that since you can download older games (anyone here done that yet? how so?), that the system is at least potentially compatible for the future to do so...

Yeah, as I said, I'm waiting a little while.
I want to see if any other controllers come out with chages/fixes, I want more old games available than there are at present, I want to be able to grab a few games with it, and see if the price falls any over 6 months.
All in all, I think it's gonna be a pretty good system, with some quality titles.
The 2-player robot buddy - crazy, the powerglove - dead, the virtual boy - damn near never existed in the first place...Nintendo has seen it's share of failed gimmicks...this one looks like the realisation of something really good this time. I've got high hopes, and I'm glad to hear that the controller interface is actually pretty good to use.

The wii isn't made for gamers, they want to get people who don't play videogames. They don't want to scare people away by having "rapeD!!! raped!!1 motherfucker ur badd!!!11! ur bad11!!! yelled at them online.

I really don't think the wii will ever go online.

If it never goes online I'd be just fine with it. I already have a PS2, a 360, and a PC that play online just fine.

You can play with just making small wrist movements if you want, it doesn't take a lot of energy unless you put a lot of energy into it. Personally I think a few drinks and Wii bowling is a blast with some friends but as you drink more, please, tighten the wrist strap on the controller.

xbox 360 premium holiday bundle goes down to 399$ CDN tomorrow (It's going to be 299$ in the US I'm sure.) Some places are throwing in gear of war too. :)

Too bad they're not throwing in innovative, fun gameplay too.
Nah, it's an ok system...but not really as great as it could be.
Nintendo's got oldskool games and innovation this time 'round, ps3 has more raw power and a huge gaming library... and it's actually backwards compatible...x360 seems like the short end this time, essentially graphical upgrades are all I've seen, and patches to play xbox1 games? Rubbish.

Yeah I don't think anyone can have a legitimate problem with the graphics of any of the 3 "new" systems. Sure, the ps3 and x360 might have comparatively clearer or crisper graphics, or slightly better rendering or whatever but you can't say the wii looks shit. Even going back to the gamecube, THAT looked awesome...the wii, even moreso.
Still holding off on grabbing mine for just a little bit though.

Yeah, you do that.
With your money, nintendo can probably make about another 50 units to sell.
Clever boy.

I finally got a Wii and I think it's pretty awesome. It's something that with the right group of people you could easily spend an entire day playing, and you get kind of a workout playing the right games. Everyone has their opinion, but this is MY kinda console. I mean, we also have a 360 and I do like that one too, but the Wii's just more all around fun to me.
