We're Knights of the Round Table,
We dance when ere we're able,
We do routines and chorus scenes
With footwork impeccable.
We dine well here in Camelot,
We eat ham and jam and spam a lot.
We're Knights of the Round Table,
Our show are formidable,
But many times, we're given rhymes
That are quite unsingable.
We're Opera mad in Camelot,
We sing from the diaphragm
a looooooot.
In war we're tough and able,
Quite indefatigable,
Between our quests we sequin vests,
And impersonate Clark Gable.
It's a busy life in Camelot,
I have to push the pram a lot.

Trip, I'm with you, I'd go back to the '20's. I think I played Sierra's Laura Bow Mysteries (yeah, all two of 'em) and read F. Scott Fitzgerald too much.

Roderick Usher
11-26-2006, 04:37 PM
yeah, the twenties were grand

contraception and alcohol were illegal
women were essentially excluded from the workforce
life expectancy in the US was 54 years (Urge, Newb and Neverending would be dead:eek: )
blacks and whites are strictly segregated
it took 13 days to get from NY to California

I'll stick with the here and now. Life's good

Excuse me......not yet 50.

And seeing that a decade is just 10 years....I've already lived in the 50's,60's,70's,80's,90's and 00's.

If I could go live as a 22 year old instead of my actual age at the time, I'd live in the 80's. Mostly because I could dress like I had a learning disability and I'd still be considered "chic"

Sometime around 2050...just to see...of course, had I the power to live there, and didn't like it...I'd go with the 1950's, cool music, great cars, whacky movies...

i was going to say something similar but you beat me to it ..

the part people remember fondly of the 20's is the part that is glamorized in movies.

the same way that - in the future - people will look at each decade of the past and think that what the tiny minority was wearing - gleamed from books and magazines and films ...was the norm for the time.

in otherwords .. just like hollywood has always portrayed as the standard : bullshit, smoke and mirrors.
