I know a guy who goes to the clubs I USED to go to (can't now, got a baby)...He's a total slut and everyone knows it...Yet, one night at the club (almost 3 years ago), when I asked him, "So, have you stalked out your prey for the night yet?"...He gets all indignant and says, "That was extremely offensive" and refused to speak to me for almost 2 months...I don't understand why...

Everyone sees him leave with a different chick every night...Hell, he keeps a duffel bag with a change of clothes and a bunch of condoms in it in his truck for fux sake...It sure as hell isn't any secret, but if HE has a problem with it, why does he DO it?...Does he think people really don't know?...Does he not want anyone to know? If so, then why does he make it so blatantly obvious?...Or are people just not supposed to talk about it, like it's some kind of secret that everyone knows, but talking about it is wrong somehow?...If so, why?...What's the big deal?

He isn't married...He doesn't have a girlfriend...He NEVER messes with anyone who isn't single...He let's everyone know up front that he is NOT looking for a girlfriend, only for a 'good time'...He's an adult (28 years old)...So, why should anyone give a shit?...

If he isn't hurting anyone (except for himself, ultimately...As this lifestyle CAN turn out to be dangerous), why does it really matter how he chooses to live his life?...He enjoys it...It's what he wants to do...

I feel that any slut who wants to be a slut has every right to do so, as long as they are 18 or older and are honest about it, so that they DON'T end up hurting someone...And as long as they stay away from my guy :p

Yknow...guy that fucks 10 chicks/guys a week can't exactly pretend like there's a special bond with each and every one of 'em.

I don't have any problem with sluts...let a person do what they're gonna do...can't say I'm personally friends with any, 'cos those that are out chasing tail usually make that their priority...but, I bear 'em no ill will. All they're really doing is delaying a (conventionally recognised)"real" life for themselves, well, that and the female sluts might well end up with the "it was like throwing a pickle down a greased hallway" syndrome...but that's their concern, not mine...As long as it's "responsible" and the person isn't a walking virus factory, it fits into my "whatever" category.

we're all going to have personal standards for what we consider a slut or not.

to me - someone who prefers having lots of partners - and isnt hurting anyone (if that's possible) through either lying about commitment or messing with involved people - then thats not a slut .. its someone who needs and enjoys variety. It's a dangerous label, because people have vastly different ideas as to what a slut actually constitutes....I have a little cousin, she's truly a gorgeous girl, and she dresses provocatively. She's been called a slut quite a bit, but in all reality she's probably the ONLY hot 19 year old virgin left in the state of California.
People judge much too quickly on appearances vs actions. If a woman is throwing herself at every man in the bar, I'm way more likely to label her a slut as opposed to a sexily dressed woman who comports herself like something of value. I'm one of those women who prefer hanging out with the guys and there have been times when I was walking down the street with a group of my male friends and got "the look" from a woman or group of women....and it's stupid, because if I were actually fucking my male friends they wouldn't be friends anymore.

the clothes they wear is a good example..the crowd they hang with is another.

I don't mind being friends with girls, but honestly there aren't many women I like well enough to be friends with. My best friend Kelly, she and I are exactly alike. the crowning glory was at a new years eve party in the pub one year, i was with a group of friends and everyone mingling as you do at parties, a guy that came in regularly came and sat at our table for 5 minutes chatting to everyone, he goes away, next thing i know his wife is sitting at the table, takes off her wedding ring, slides it towards me and says "you might as well have this", how fucked up is that... i got up and walked out, don't go to parties anymore.

'slut' is a label that is sooooo easy to acquire and extremely difficult to get rid of, if you're seen with certain people, or in certain places, if you wear provocative clothes, or for all sorts of stupid reasons you'll be labelled a 'slut'. Someone only has to hear you called that once and you have a reputation before morning.... you have to spend a lot of years locked away in your home to dispel labels like that
