Same here so many bands try to add as many people as they can and at first I would just add them but now I deleted all of them except the bands I know and like and will deny any more requests. I use it for the soul purpose of keeping in touch with old friends.

I'm actually in the process of closing it. I just don't want to close it before I get some of the peoples email addresses that I talk to on there regularly. I went from 260 friends down to like 88 I think. So I'm almost there.

I didn't know that, but that is awesome. I wouldn't do it, b/c I actually have listened to some of the bands who request me to add them and, believe it or not, thought they were decent. I also get a request every now and then from a band that I am friends with but didn't think they had a myspace account.

as Nikkif8 said, about 99% of what I use myspace for is to keep up with old friends who live in far away places.

I'm in the process of closing my myspace down but I am still actively seeking out conversations with people who I don't know. They can't see my profile so have no way of paying me any kind of compliment as everything other than some emo pic is hidden from them. Then, when they point that out, I come post about it in some forums and whine about shit in general. If you are down to listen to my cry about life you would be a great friend for me and myspace. I'd only ever use myspace as a promotional tool, or event planning, and have it BLOCKED for all those I didn't intend to see it (is that even possible? probably not, right?:rolleyes: ) I've a friend who's spoken to, and met up with a couple of rappers when they were performing here (er, yukmouth and somebody that was on his tour), which I suppose is cool if you're into that genre and want to try talking to some of them at the risk of looking like a suck-up fanboy. Of course now, he's the sydney weed hookup for a few of them, which pretty much means I am...hm...maybe there'll be a few tickets in it for me, maybe not, couldn't much care.
