I never thought it would come to an end, but alas, it has. Tommorow at 6PM EST, my girlfriend will be leaving to go back home to Germany. :( Now I really have nothing left to do except work my ass off everyday I can to get enough money to go see her.
It's funny, sometimes, you don't realize how much you love someone or something until you know that it's not going to be there anymore. And I just learned that tonight. Hell, I usually don't shed a tear over anything. Not funerals, not pain, nothing. But my eyes were soaked tonight. I've been with her for 8 Months now this Thursday.
This has been the best year of my life despite her having to leave. But I'm really not alone as long as I have my memories and know that she's still there.
Oh, and by the way, you will be welcoming her soon on here. She is going to sign up when she gets home and be a new resident in the HDC family.
Over and Out.

When you care about something that much, and then it's just taken away from you. It just hurts more than anything for some reason.
That sucks. What kind of paper would prevent them from letting you go? :(

No...Her dad that she was going to live with, well....nevermind. She started living with her grandmother, but now she's going back home to live with her mom.
And yes, 99.9% sure I will be here on New Years.
@Return
It's not really a matter of how far. I'm sure it's the same for both of us. Whether it's 50 miles of 50,000 miles, it's still hard. And that's true, you do tend to appreciate it more.

As someone who suffered a couple of bad long-D relationships, but turned the most recent one into a great marriage (almost 10 years and 2 cool kids) please take this little bit of advice.
Sure you get a grieving time - this is traumatic - but the worst thing you can do is pine for what once was. If you want to go back to how it was before, you'll never move forward.
Accept the situation for what it is (after a certain period of adjustment) and allow the relationship to evolve into whatever it has to be to survive. But keep the presseure off yourself and her to re-capture the fleeting sensation of falling in love with her.
Being in love and growing in love will never feel quite like falling in love, so don't expect it too.
Sorry if that came out preachy, I just feel for you and have too much experience in this realm.

I got sick from bad sushi and missed my one chance of going out with the girl who was considering going out with me. The day i missed school her ex asked her out and she said yes.
Which reminds me........last week I had a vacation with the family at Universal Theme Park in Orlando. We all went out to eat at the Hard Rock Cafe......I had the grilled salmon.....an hour later we are walking around CityWalk....The hotel is about a 15 min. walk from there. At this point its just me and the wife [the kids went back to the hotel already] and I suggested we head back [ was feeling something going on in my nether regions ].
Halfway back it hit me.....cramps like i've never felt before......I seriously thought I was going to shit my pants.....I'm trying not to let on to my wife and ruin the nice walk back...she's telling me a story or something, but all I can do is concentrate on NOT shitting myself. She notices i'm not really paying attention and ask...Are you listening to me?....I had to tell her....I was almost doubled over at this point. So we pick up the pace a bit [although i'm kinda taking baby steps, so as not to cause too much jostling ]. I'm actually looking at the bushes for a place to squat but know if that happens it would not be good....not at all.
I make it back to the hotel and thank god there was a mens room in the lobby.........barely made it....pants just at the knees when the explosions occured.
Other than that it was a great trip.

dont you love the way the need increases expedentially with how close you are to the destination ...
my poor kid had that exact problem yesterday ..we were out downtown at my wifes work function's kids party ...
you know - when you said nether regions, i thought you were talking about having a vacation hotel boner for the wife and were going to go into detail.
i guess that particular activity took the shine off of any potential marital shenanigans that night :)

I went to london this weekend and stayed at The Hilton. (yes, the one in England owned by Paris's dad.) It was pretty good and we had a full view over london. Then we went and saw the new musical "we will rock you". It's a play written by Brian May with all of the Queen songs fitted into it.
