Witness, and laugh your ass off. Bill O'Reilly and a "psychotherapist" (no credentials are given, surprisingly enough  ) explain exactly what is wrong with us horror fans.

I get the impression that neither of these douchebags have ever actually seen a horror film, especially since O'Reilly refers to the Mummy and Dracula as "harmless."

Insidious... Bill should take a look at himself when he uses that word.
The clip is amusing until the end when he threatens to "stop" these film companies. With what? How? There is no evidence that these films cause people to hurt other people.
The so called psychotherapist damned her own argument by saying that the people who act out these films would already be deeply troubled as it is. So, who knows what kind of stimulus would set them off. Besides, not all people in the mental healthcare profession agree with her. I think that the decision that horror films are "bad" for people is based on a person's revulsion (an opinion) of the films, but if you had a therapist or doctor who, you know, sorta enjoyed a horror flick from time to time, they'd probably say that it was no biggy as long as you (and 90% of the people who watch them do) keep it in the "imaginary" perspective.
Besides, who is she to make a blanket statement about all horror fans. I don't really see many of us as people who desire this ultra sense of "power." We just enjoy the story, the characters, the gore (because gore is entertaining, and we know it's not real or that it's not happening to us or those we know), and what not. It's fantasy, and we know that. The only people that don't seem to know that are idiots like O'Reilly, and his guests. That's the scary part.
Crazy talk if you ask me.

Comics fans thought Fredric Wertham was a joke too, until he testifed to Congress and eviscerated the comic book industry for decades.

So...I wonder what type of movies Bill O'Reilly watches that would cause a pious, married, Catholic man (such as he is) to do something like THIS:

Whatever it is...I think I'll pass on THOSE types of movies:rolleyes:

HAHA...The banner ad right above O'Reilly's head on that page is for After Dark Horrorfest
Brutal
Note to Psychotherapist:
I do NOT use tranquilisers.
I do NOT have anger issues.
I have NOT killed anyone.
I am NOT cruel to animals.
I have seen King Kong and have no wish to be a 25 ft gorilla and climb up the Empire State Building.
I have seen TCM but do not own a Chainsaw.
I have seen Halloween but did not kill my sister (even if I had one).
I have seen Friday the 13th, yet do not wear a hockey mask.
I have seen A Nightmare on Elm Street, but do not abuse kids, with or without a glove with knives.
I have seen Zombie and Cannibal films, but have no wish to eat someone's brains.
I am sure there are some people out there, who do wish the above, but I (like the majority of people out there) know the difference between fact and fiction, fantasy and reality.
Ass-wipe.
Correction, I do have anger issues. Anger issues with dumb asses who have nothing better to do, than talk about things of which carry no validity or interest what-so-ever, and have (no doubt) a book that conveniently just happens to be coming out.
Why not use your training and qualifications to do some good in the world, rather than getting paid (come on now, you didn't offer your services for free) for wasting tax payers money.

I really get a kick out of the fact that they always talk about fans of violent media having anger issues. We usually do, caused by people treating us like shit for no reason, or people who have no right to point fingers telling what we should do with our lives.
What kind o fwuss was the author? He sounded like he couldnt disagree more with what bill was satying, but agreed to kiss his butt.. schmuck, grow a backbone.
I dont recall any cannibalism in The Hills Have Eyes (Remake).... I distinctly recall a DOG getting eaten, and though most of us consider dogs people, they arent human....
5 minutes of research would savbe a lot of these idiots showing us their true idiot colors, but they feed on their own ignorance.
