So what is your favorite horror film in the last 5 years, I would like to know what I am missing. As far as I am concerend there havent been alot of of good ones. The one that really sticks out in my brain is The Descent, but I know some with say Saw, others will say 28 days later, and I guess maybe The Ring(which I hated, except for Brian Cox). Is there something out there that I am missing. I have been hating alot of horror movies that hit the theater but go anyway to support the genre, which is finally making a comeback.

House Of 1000 Corpses/Devil's Rejects
High Tension (the twist was whack but whatever pretty decent modern slasher)
Malevolence (one of the finest low budget horror flicks I've seen in a long time)
plus some others I can't think of now.

after watching Dog Soldiers and Bubba Ho Tep I'd like to throw my vote in for those 2 as well. I especially liked Bubba Ho tep. I am a huge fan of Bruce Cambell.

Hmm...I can't say for sure but the first title that comes to mind is definitely "Shaun of the Dead." It's the movie that, based on the title, I was sure I wasn't going to like. Loved it immediately as soon as it started.

Saw was definately one of my favs in the last five years as well as High Tension and The Devil's Rejects, TCM -The Beginning was really good too IMO. I haven't seen SawIII yet but need to soon!!! I hear mixed reviews.
