I am trying to convince my band to do a cover of a Misfits song and pump it up a bit. We are going for a heavier metal approach, but I'd like to know which one would be the best for the job.
Thanks

Damn where do I start.....If your gonna play it metal I would play "Skulls" or "Mommy can I go out and kill tonight"
With the Misfits you have a lot of options. Best punk band EVER!!!!!!!!!!
Happy Halloween you FIEND

Anything off Earth AD would be perfect if you're doing the metal thing.

Celldweller has already done a remake of this one on the Misfits tribute album. It was a lot heavier than the original. Not really so much metal as industrial though.
Thanks for the help everyone. I'm going to start listening to these and then snag the best one to hand to my band.

Horror Business is right. As for a cover, most people that I know that don't listen to Misfits much get into 20 Eyes, Attitude, American Nightmare, and Where Eagles Dare. People just seem to like those songs more than any others.... But don't jack them up:mad: ;) If you're thinking or something more from the Graves years I can't help you, I thought most of that was shit.

My favorite misfits songs are Angelfuck and probably Die, Die, My Darling. Covered to death though... how about "Dig up her Bones"?

That song fuckin' kills. I cut my hand up pretty good playing it one time. But whatever you're not playing it right if blood isn't spilt to it.

I saw a local thrash band that opened for Suicidal Tendencies do a ripping thrash metal cover of Skull . I mean they ripped it up too. It was very cool.
Anything off Earth AD or Walk Among Us would be cool if done right though.
edit :Oops don't know why I quoted you bro. Though what you say is true.

Death comes ripping for sure. Mommy would be a great choice. My mom even sings to "Where Eagles Dare". I don't know if you like Samhain or not but Macabre or The Howl would be sweet metal versions.
