I've never particularly been a fan of remakes. They rarely improve on the original, and I tend to interpret them as an indication that people are simply running out of good movie ideas.
I saw the Omen remake last night and was not expecting much. I figured it might work as an update of the original - modernizing it without changing too much. Although it appeared that this was what they were going for, the movie did nothing for me. I've always liked the original, but this one just didn't have the same creepy atmosphere. Not only did I not find it at all scary, but it was actually boring.
Enough with the remakes.
