i was so tired tonight i fell asleep in a chair watching tv with my kid at 8:00.
so i knew i should get to bed nice and early. i'm asleep just before 9 (just after putting my boy to bed - i'm out like a light.

12:00 - 12:30 he wakes up because he's coughing ... so he gets in our bed and proceeds to kick me in the back. (this has happened so frequently that i permantly sleep with my back to the middle of the bed - getting kicked in the back isnt quite as bad as being woken up with a kick in the nuts)
so now i cant sleep.

shit !

Well I really don't know what that's like, I sort of do our dog always climbs in between my fiance and I while were sleeping. But I will have to take that into consideration as to putting my back towards and not my fmaily jewls :)

Yep, it's called 'Calpol'. Works wonders when they're having a bad night. :)

Carefull about having them in bed with you. They kind of get into the habit and then it's a pain to get them out of it... :(

I feel for you.

My three year-old will still try to sneak into our bed in the middle of the night once a week or so. If I don't hop up and take him back to his own bed, I spend the night being kicked and steamrolled off he damned bed.

amazing how much room these little boogers take..

when he was a baby he slept with us because he had a very tough time breathing and we would have been too paranoid to sleep anyway .. after 6 mo.s he was in his crib full time. (we sealed the deal when we got him a bunkbed/desk/cupboard combo thing which he loves.

but when he was a baby - we had 2 cats, a dog (that i found), our baby, and my wife all in a queen sized bed.
I was curled into a small ball on my side on the edge of the bed .. cats and dogs pinning my legs in place on either side ...

me - 6'2" and i took up less space than one of the cats..

6'2" myself

somehow I'm always the one hanging off the edge of the bed:mad:

The young 'un better be on his toes today, this thread is making me agitated:eek:

mean old man !

i guess i have mixed feelings .. by the time i was 6 i couldnt stand my parents - as uncomfortable as it is i still secretly like the fact that he wants to be with us all the time and finds comfort in it..

I don't want kids now. Getting woken up with a kick to the nuts sounds like just about the worst thing imaginable.

you need a broader imagination ..

working in the corporate world is far worse ..

you have all kinds of people lining up to kick you in the nuts daily.
and you're expected to say thanks after ..
