I was upstairs talking on the phone with my girlfriend. When I get off, I come down stairs and my dad asks me if I fell or something. I had been laying down the entire time, so of course my answer was no. Then we hear it again. We figured it was storming or something, so I got on the computer.

My dad walks outside and hears an explosion and runs back in telling me and my mom to stay inside while he runs back into his room grabbing his gun. Me and my mom have no clue what's going on. My dad thought it was some sort of bomb going off.

I start walking back to his bedroom and see an orange light coming through the window from our neighbors house. I think it's an outside light. Right about that time, my dad comes bursting in and yells, "Their house is on fire!".

We go outside, and our neighbors house is engulfed in flames. The trees around it are on fire, the sheds in the back are on fire and the smoke and sparks were as high and far as you could see.

My dad jumps in the car and drives up there (we live about 3 acres away), and me and my mom are just watching.

As the fire grew, everything started exploding. He had about 10-12 antique cars full of gas underneath his house in a shed. Every last one blew up. You could hear and see it from my front yard.

The house eventually collapsed into nothing more than a crumpled pile of steel. Everything they had is now gone. Luckily, they got out before the fire reached their house.

The fire department came from another town because ours was closed, and the fire is still burning as I'm typing this. It has been since I posted that Monster In My Pocket thread.

I feel so bad for them. They are the nicest people you'd ever meet. The husband is a collector and probably had about 3 million dollars worth of stuff. Not to mention that they just got their house fixed up the way they wanted.

The worst things happen to the nicest people. :(

That really sucks. I feel for him, when I was 16 the apartment we lived in burned down. It's terrible to lose everything you own...
