So what music do you love, but are somewhat ashamed of? For me, it would have to be Daft Punk. Their music really gives me a good feeling, but it's just so damned cheesy. Driving around listening to "Da Funk" or "Robot Rock" on full blast will get you some very strange looks. Oh, and there's also a lot of horrible 80s synthpop, but let's not get into that.

Alright then. Let's hear your secret shame.

I'm ashamed of still liking a lot of cheesy 80's music, but I think it is understandable since I was going through school then and that was the music of my teen years. With regard to current stuff, I'd have to say hip-hop (I rarely listen to it, but I would be embarrassed to do so around others) and virtually anything that might be played on the radio.

1. Hole (Mainly Nirvana fans... hole > nirvana)
2. Screeching Weasel (older stuff is what I like, they're a super poppy punk band though)
3. The Faint

top 3 that I get the most crap for having one or more of their cds, in order.

i always preferred Hole to Nirvana .. yes you can get into some good scraps over that one.

Im not a fan of metal at all but I have to admit he has few good songs that I like. I dont like Marilyn Manson but I like his music. Marilyn Manson is a straight up freak but he makes some good music. I absolutely love Sweet Dreams.

Limp Wrist was mentioned earlier, i listen to them here and there, Knifed too, they also sing about...gay stuff. but they rip, and like limp wrist, aren't what you expect when you think gay music.
I searched through my library to see if i could find some more potentially embarrassing stuff, there's not much. The Prodigy could fit into that category i think. im not too embarrassed about it though. I dig 50 cents first album, I suppose that's rather embarrassing too...however there's a difference between embarrassing and bad.
almost forgot..I think No Doubt's 'hella good' is really catchy.

In '97 I got the Chrisse doll from the collection where Barbie had a band and I had the Chrissie girl that wore green and came with a guitar (I know, why is she wearing green if the song is about pink?) Well Barbie wore pink. It came with a cassette that has the song they sing. The song's about empowering girls--telling them to be who they are, they're shining stars, etc, etc but at the same time keep stressing pink.
