I never saw the sequal to the texas chainsaw massacre, but from the clips which ive seen(trailers etc), it looks ABSOLUTELY nothing like something i would expect.

I plan on seeing this one real soon, but before i head out to do that....fill me in...whats the deal?

Some people calle dit pure garbage, while others say its their favorite.

(i know thats typical, but this is the first time, i seriously have no idea wha to expect).

For the record, i didnt find 3 to be THAT bad. It was definitly entertaining on a simple level.

4 was just whatever.

but 2 seriously looks weird.

TCM 2 is the polar opposite of the first. It's a campy, gory, comedic romp through the mythology created by the first film complete with a chainsaw duel.

It is a very wierd film that gets better with repeated viewings. I love it!

I'm not a big fan. At all.

Maybe I need to watch it a few more times. But I thought it was rediculously stupid.

And it isn't what you expect, SKOOFx.

All this talk about TCM2 made me go out and buy it today :D another movie to add to my collection I have only seen it once and that was a long time ago, so I don't remember half the shit that happens although I do remember ChopTops part.

I liked TCM 3 more than 2. If I were ranking them, it'd go like this...

TCM original
TCM remake
TCM 3 leatherface
TCM 2
TCM 4 TNG

I havent seen The Beginning yet.

I wrote a review of this awhile back that Im pretty happy with...here it is, if thou art interested:

This film is a lot of fun. It forgoes the gritty realism of the first film for over-the-top gore and comedy, with crazy characters and bizarre situations aplenty. The end result is more like some sort of nightmarish comic book come to life than a slasher flick.

Let me start off with the characters. Dennis Hopper is great as usual as Lefty Enright, uncle of Sally and Franklin from the first film. He's completely obsessed with finding the killers responsible for their deaths. He gives a great performance, going from 100% badass near to first of the film to certified lunatic as it near the end. The Sawyer family is even more over-the-top. Leatherface and Drayton (AKA The Cook) return from the first film, crazier than ever, and are joined by brother Choptop, who puts the rest of them to shame in terms of craziness. Bill Moseley plays him superbly, in what is easily one of best and most over-the-top roles. I didn't particularly care for Strech, the heroic late-night radio DJ, but she was well acted and served her purpose.

The plot was much better than the majority of slasher movies, but I think it's best to go into it knowing as little as possible. I didn't even read the back of the DVD before I watched it, and I really think that helped my experience.

Last but not least, the gore! The first film had almost no on screen gore; it left it up to the viewer's imaginations. This is the polar opposite, throwing buckets of blood and body parts at the audience as often as possible. One of the greatest horror effects gurus, Tom Savini, was behind them, so you know they had to look awesome.

All in all, I really enjoyed this film. It's brutal, it's insane, and it's a lot of fun.

8.5/10

TCM 2 is crap.. dont waste 90 minutes of your life for that ... just go and see someone sleep because it would be more interesting, tcm 3 was nice i actually liked it check that out, tcm 4 is a a piece of shit ... its even worst then the second part... ye i know .. how the hell can that be, avoid the forth film at all cost, the remake was an ok movie .... but overall man... if you just watched the original thats enough believe me because the other movies in the series suck

what i meant about part 3 is that i actually liked it in some way... but compared to the origial.. they all suck, and no one of them deserves to be an actual sequel

You love saying they suck, but you dont seem to want us to know why you think that.

well thats my opinion you can sue me later.... anyway the second one was just like some comedy and i really didnt like it, specially with leatherface borhter who looks like the joker from batman on crack, when the girl got to the family it sucked for me... again it was too much of a comedy

third movie focus on more savage deaths thats why i liked it more then 2,4 but again leatherface is like some kind bufoon form a cartoon, and the family? hhhhh its some hillbily clan that broke up from the circus , its just too goofy

and the forth part?? theres nothing to say about it .... a group of teens get into a car crash and they are out for help.... wow i never saw that coming:eek: ...just not a group of teens have a problem with there car in texas  , in the movie leatherface has a great chance to kill jenny.... but why he cant? because she is the main character.... then his brother shows up with his mental issues and kills the hurt teen right away and then he gives the other girl a ride and he talks like my friends after a heroin dose, only thing i will give matthew is that he did his role realy good, but the role just wasnt right in the movie... they tried to make vilmer look like a real mental psychi but instead they made him like some drug addict idiot that havnt take a dose in a long time and he is freaked out ....and the part that they work for the reakin CIA? wtf? thats just stupid... and leatherface ??? Lol come on... he had a chance to kill jenny but instead he puts his saw down and then just waves with it while she is running away, also he looks like some bitch of his brothers..especialy when W.E is abussing him like some retard

so thats my opinion why all the sequels suck... the third is an ok movie you can watch it... but if you like the original TCM and expacting something good.... dont watch any of those sequels and avoid the remake too

#2 is my favorite..
not saying its a better movie but i'll give it more repeated viewings than the first

dennis hopper slid so easily into the chainsaw family picture..

(favorite scene : when he was trying out the chainsaws - going apeshit on the log - and the inbred goober who runs the place was watching and laughing - pure Tobe Hooper moment)
