View Full Version : Suggestions For Navigating This New Format

I am hoping to encourage you guys to work together to figure this out...
If any of you have any questions, or have discovered something that might be helpful to the rest of us, please post it here.
Here are a few suggestions:
1) If a button doesn't work (such as the 'Search' feature) - Right click on it, then choose 'open link' or 'open'
2) If you would like to post a picture - Get a Photobucket account (It's fast and easy)...Upload images there, then copy/paste the box marked 'IMG' directly onto your reply
3) If you would like to have a picture gallery - Create a Photobucket account (a separate one from the one you would post pictures from)...Go to account options (in the top right corner) there, make THAT account 'Public'...Then put a link to it in your signature
4) To send a message to a forum member - Just click on their name in any of their posts
That's about all I've got right now

It was quite fun.Click on 'Members', then right click on 'search members' (top right), choose the 'open' option. Scroll all the way to the bottom of the page (on the left), click on 'order results by' then choose 'post count'. There ya go

I'm sure, in time, the changes are for the better.....look....I got a nifty little sig-thingy I made.
I would like to know why it has taken me at least half an hour for HDC to recognize me. (Although I logged on ok, i could not post anything! and i kept getting a text box with re-enter your user name and password):mad:
And I have just noticed that when I press shift + two button @ that is what i get, but if i press the ampersand button + shift i get this "?
i've got to say that i genuinely hate the new format (and I was actually a member of another forum a while back that shifted to this same format and i ended up just quitting it because it ruined everything - i doubt i could quit hdc for more than a few weeks at a time, but it sure makes me reluctant to come on and post much).

BTW Gore, you can still see where you stand...go to the members list, the click where it says "Posts". It will arrage it by # of posts, starting with the most.

Regarding our picture galleries (stolen from Hellfire :p) :
of course there's not an option anymore when we view our profiles, but they're still there. just go into multimedia, perform a username search and you'll find your gallery

A' right I was bitchin' about the photobucket thing, but I've got it figured out. Pretty easy. I can handle this, it'll just take some getting used to. What I really really like, are the easy to use font, bold, italics, underline, colore, and size things. That's an improvement. The smilies are cuter too.

What prompted this change??? All this extra work to add a photo etc.....when everything was working just fine before. If you see that a-hole Horror tell him to "Fuck Off" for screwing up the forum, one in which he never seemed to use anyway!!!!!!!!!!! :mad:

I haven't totally given up yet, but it IS very frustrating. I'm hoping you guys are still working out the bugs, that's why I haven't given up yet. I've been through enough system upgrades at work to know it doesn't always work perfectly at first. Although I have to admit, being one of the main people at work to do QA testing before new releases, I would have caught these errors before the release of this version. hmmph...
BTW, Anyone looking for a very anal QA tester for their company? I'm looking for a new job and that is one of the things I do.

OK, I figured out how to edit my own posts. If I hit Edit and make my changes and hit Save Changes, I get a message that I don't have the permission to do that and I have to log back in because it throws me out.
BUT, if I hit Edit, then hit Go Advanced and log back in, then I can make my changes and save it. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE tell me this is not the "new" way to edit posts and it's just a temporary problem, cuz it's ridiculous this way. :(

I logged in to update my tourney and noticed that now you can change your avatar and title under your name.
The only thing that sucks is that your avatar can only be under 2.4 KB (max size 150x150).:rolleyes:

I never understood why a web designer would make a forum a fixed width of 754 pixels. My screen width is 1280 - which means that there is a ton of unused (light blue background) space on my screen. I guess that this forum style requires it for some reason - i guess so graphics line up correctly - but I still think it's stupid.
my request is to change <table width="754"> to <table width="100%"> even though the old style had this same limit as well. Is this a PHPBB forum? If so - it's a really easy fix.

I don't think we'll be needing this stuck up at the top anymore...It seems we've pretty much got it figured out now...
