Every movie you listed is worth a watch....some of them are great, and some of them are not so great but still entertaining....I love Night of the Demons, The Gate, Nightbreed, and.....well hell, they're all pretty watchable.....I'd check all of them out. The only one I haven't seen is Terror Train, and it's been highly recommended by a person whose opinion I trust.

I've been doing a bit of research myself and I've come across a few that I am relatively unfamiliar with.... Can you guys tell me if you think any of the following are any good? good/bad...why? (I'll watch them if I can find the dvd's)

1. Terror Train
2. The Funhouse
3. Hell Night
4. Tourist Trap
5. Night of the Demons
6. Motel Hell
7. Nightbreed
8. The Gate
9. Sleepaway Camp

tourist trap is probably my favorite of this bunch

terror train/hell night/funhouse .... i was kind of getting sick of slashers by the time i saw these.

nightbreed is ok .. some good creature effects .. i always liked the fact that it took place in canada (well, the book Cabal did)

the gate has some fun creature effects as well.

Angelakillsluts will tell you that Sleepaway Camp is the best movie ever made :)

I wanted to give Funhouse a special mention because, although it is basically a cookie-cutter slasher pic, it mines the familiar territory with unusual style and production value. I didn't think too much of it when I saw it in the theatres, honestly. But years later, watching a good DVD of it, in widescreen, I found myself impressed. I feel it's the nicest American slasher film "production" from that time period.

The music score is also, arguably, pretty solid.

Unfortunately, although it looks good, the DVD that got released reveals a very unbalanced sound mix, with sound effects that are far too loud and barely audible dialogue tracks. Occasionally you have to strain to hear things. I don't remember it being hard to listen to in the theatre.

3. Hell Night - recommended, nice slasher

4. Tourist Trap - recommended, excellent movie

5. Night of the Demons - recommended, neat effects and fun sequences

6. Motel Hell - recommended, nice cheesy effects

7. Nightbreed - highly recommended, easily the best of the lot listed here

8. The Gate - not bad, its an ok movie as far as my interests go...

9. Sleepaway Camp - welllll...depends on the slasher interest you got, its worth a watch though...
