Do any of you try to integrate movie refrences in your everyday lives? Im sure some of you must have good stories...

I try to, but rarely get a chance...and when I do, people usually dint get it. Did a good one today though.

Im in a stage production of Treasure Island, right? We're still just starting out, and today was one of the first times we rehersed with the pirate ship set.

Well the sets arent actually built yet, so we just use blocks ad stuff to show where stuff will be, right? On top of that, our rehersal space is pretty cramped considering the size of the cast. Everyone was pretty clumped together on "the ship", and our director told everyone to spread out as best they could. Needless to say, I crack out the obvious line:

"I think we're gonna need a bigger boat"

The other day one of my teacher's asked us to name some good metaphors.

I said "We'll make Rock Ridge feel like a chicken caught in a tractor's nuts."

I make references to movies all the time. Back in high school, most people didn't get the references, and I felt old.

How are you a human if you have never seen Jaws!???
I just don't understand...I say this quote all the time because one of my instructors last name is Quint, and no one ever gets the Jaws references. Most of the students in my class have never seen Jaws, and that's crazy to me.

Oh yeah, all the time.

When Fight Club first came out, my friend and I had a competition to see who could get more people to walk into the first Ed Norton-Bradd Pitt conversation.

"Oh no, I get it. Very clever. How's that working out for you?"

"What?"

"Being clever."

Haha, sorry, but it's no joke. I have yet to see the infamous shark movie. I have seen maybe 5 minutes of it.

People! By today's standards Jaw's may be overrated, but if you lived through it in the late seventies it would have freaked you out! I was about 13 when it came out, and my parents wouldn't even let me see it and I was still terrified to go in the ocean! I live near Ocean City, MD and I remember people would NOT even go in the water! Everyone was terrified of getting eaten by a shark that summer!!!!

Come on some of you older members, tell it like it is!

People were freaked!
