Great movie, gore sex, cannibalism, everything in a film that makes the Blair Witch Project look like a kids film, IMO. When I first saw it, I totally thought it was real. Did anyone else think so?

No.

Maybe Shanks did.

But we don't talk about that.

Are you saying BWP looks like a kids' film because it features no gore, sex or cannibalism?

i'll tell you this without hesitation :

Cannibal Holocaust makes The Grinch that Stole Christmas look like a kids film.

I thought that was the Guinea Pig films. There's a great article in Ultra Violence with Chas Baulin ripping him out about it. Fuck heaps of shit went down because of that.

Looks like he is pretty much through with the internet......from his website.

After much thought I have decided to pack in 'Beardyfreak.com'.
It's become a bit of a chore, films are piled up purely unwatched because I have not been in the mood to review them as well, money has been spent on films purely to write up on here more than because I really wanted them...and quite frankly i just can't be bothered with it all.
Real life and family are more important and as such it's goodbye to this site. And goodbye to message boards, as I’m quite frankly typed-out and empty.
I just want to get back to simply watching and enjoying films and leaving it at that.

The site will be here, with no more updates (amazingly a Seagal film will be the last film reviewed on here as a main review! Who'd have thought it?!), until the hosting runs out.

So that's it then. it's been a good 6 year ride, but I am reviewed out and so off into the black void of Internet memory (and I hope my regular readers keep those memories) goes the mighty Beardyfreak.com.

A big thank you to my Wife for the basic site set-up and code work, big thanks to those sites and individuals who have linked beardyfreak.com and kept the buzz going, big thanks to those individual film makers and companies who sent screeners and a really big THANK YOU to all my readers.

'42nd Street Freak' and 'Beardyfreak.com' are both voluntarily calling it an Internet day...So take care all those friends and supporters (and "screw you" to all the others) and I will see you all on the other side.

Bye bye.

thats a damn shame, i hate to think of losing a bitter, self important, one dimensional asshole .. but if that's the case ...
so be it.

i bet his wife finally gave him shit for spending all his time fighting with children online instead of taking care of his own (god forbid)

He may have known films and had a great site (I never really went to it.) but that doesn't make him any less of a tool. The CH thread is funny now, in retrospect, but at the time it was just straight up annoying to have him (and you to a far lesser extent) taking bits and pieces of what people said out of context and trying to make them look stupid. I can't even begin to count the number of times I had to refer to my first post in that thread simply because what I was saying later on was being taken out of context.

yeah - when you really think about it - the ability to watch films and remember them doesnt exactly qualify someone for godhood.

its not like anyone cant do it given the time. .. big whoop.

i prefer to see people as how they react to adversity. anyone can be a great guy when everyone is agreeing with them. the true measure of a man/woman is how they react under pressure (not pr3ssur3 :p )

its like the old scenario :

if a guy is nice to you but treats a waiter like shit for no reason - does that make them a good guy ?

from where i sit - no - it makes them an asshole.
you're turn will come to take this persons shit - the 1st time they perceive you as disagreeing with anything they say.

just watched Eaten Alive! and Jungle Holocaust. Usually I'd think anybody who beat off to cannibal movies was a bit sick, but damn if Me Me Lai isn't fucking hot as hell (and nude throughout the entire movie) *fap fap fap*

i hated Cannibal Holocaust. i think Ruggero Deodato kinda sucks. hes got potential, but he spits out shitty movies in my opinion.
