As a horror film maker and avid fan I have been obsessed with horror documentaries. My fav so far is IFC's AMERICAN NIGHTMARE - brilliant.

Also in love with the AFI 100 Scariest Movie Moments and watch it every time it's on tv - much to the wife's chagrin.

The Halloween 25 Years of Horror is pretty good, but I prefer the "making of" on the Halloween 25th Anniversay disc.

What other god horror docs are out there?

hmmm.. i have only seen the "100 scariest moments" one.

A sort of documentary from the 80s was terror in the aisles. I always enjoyed it. "Hosted" by Nancy Allen and Donald Pleasance.

yeah, I remember that one, it was sort of a "greatest hits" montage thing. It was cool when I was a teen. Haven't seen it since it came out.

Corpse Fucking Art (1987) is an interesting insight into Nekromantik.

I know it's not necessarily a horror documentary, but I watched all the "making of" extras on my Alien Collector's Edition DVD and it was fascinating. The interviews were really interesting, and it never bored me once.

The one called "the Alien Saga" is fantastic. It's a seperate disc that comes with the boxed set.
