I pump gas.

I dont mind it...kinda boring and the hours are kinda nuts (in the course of a normal weekend, I work a total of 24 hours) but the pa isnt bad, and I get most of the week off.

Im trying to get my boss to give me a shift on cash in the store from time to time...I go in and help sometimes if it's slow at the pumps, and Im pretty good at it/enjoy it ALOT more than being cooped up alone in my little booth.

I envy you, i wish i could be writing full time. Im hoping to one day leverage my fiction and my writing for Planet Half Life into something lucrative. Or at least full time.

You and me both. It's hard when you work full time, especially if you want to write novels or screenplays. Between the 9 to 5 and the normal mundane stuff, like mowing the lawn, I'm left little time to do much other than turn out the occasional short story anymore.

There's a voice that keeps on calling me
Down the road is where I'll always be

Every stop I make, I'll make a new friend
Can't stay for long, just turn around and I'm gone again.

Maybe tomorrow, I'll want settle down,
Until tomorrow, I'll just keep moving on.

Down this road, that never seems to end,
Where new adventure, lies just around the bend.

So if you want to join me for a while
Just grab your hat, come travel light - that's hobo style.

Maybe tomorrow, I'll want settle down,
Until tomorrow, the whole world is my home.

Same here, but i had an epiphany recently:

HP Lovecraft is one of my biggest influences, and 90% of his good stuff in under 20 pages. i realised when i wrote the Safe that you can grind out some great stuff in short pieces. If you build up a big enough body of work like that, you may be able to swing a compilation or somehting similar from a publisher.

Hey, trying cant hurt. id love to stay home all day with my daughter and crank out short stories :)
