Ok, some of my threads are disappearing. I couldn't find my Ginger Snaps 2 thread so I'm starting a new one. Here's the poster:

Kind of a satire on puberty....but with a werewolf angle. Pretty cool movie actually.

I live in Canada so I'll be seeing this in the theatres.

Sometimes it's good to be Canadian.I guess.

I really dug the first one so I hope these are at least watchable.

gingers snaps is the shit. ginger (i forgot her name in real life) is sooooooo hot. yeah ginger snaps also had one of the best opening sequences ever.

Ginger Snaps it a cool movie, on the link from the offical site for Ginger Snaps it says that if the sequal does do well at the ciama(sp) then Ginger Snaps 3 will be going stright to video but am not comoplete sure.

interesting you said that. i just found out the other day that europe has the ginger snaps dvd with all the cool features on it. supposedly it has a still gallery, a making of featurette, commentary, interviews, and outtakes. the usa gingersnaps dvd fucking sucks. hopefully theyll release it in britain.

I agree, I am disapointed. The UK gets "Dog Soldiers", Canada gets "Ginger Snaps" what does the US get Underworld!!!

At least I can get it on DVD eventually.

Oh and Nightbreed you can order a copy of the SE "Ginger Snaps" DVD from Canada. Since Canada is region 1 DVD like the U.S. it will play on your DVD player.

i just found out the other day that b/c i have a 2nd generation ps2 that i can actually change the region on my dvd player- a feature they took out with the 3rd and 4th generations. you can actually set it up to read any dvd. im like fuck- i could have seen 28 days like 3 years ago! So im fairly sure ill be getting the gingersnaps dvd from europe pretty soon here.

Saw Ginger Snaps 2, liked it so much I looked up this forum and decided to tell you all that it kicks ass. I haven't been as creeped out by a movie in a long time as I was by this one. You just don't know what the hell is going on. The little girl... I'll let you watch and find out. I think it's better that I never watched ginger snaps 1 though. seems like a lame sort of thing, but 2 has a really cool twist.

I saw Ginger Snaps 2 on the shelf, at my local BB. Strangley they didn't have Ginger Snaps though. I haven't seen either one, but I've heard they're both pretty good.

I also can't wait for the Dog Soldiers sequel

I tried looking for it at Best Buy. Damnit, I didn't find it! The first one, that is. I've yet to see the second one, but I hope to sometime soon. Every time I go to Best Buy, I always search all the horror movies they have. Not once do I ever remember seeing it.

I heard the Special Canadian Collector's Edition is way better, though. Unfortunately, I'm not driving up to Canada anytime soon, or buying any damn DVD's off the internet, so it looks like I'll just have to keep searching for the crappy American version. But, I did hear the American version has a trailer. So, that's a bonus.

They have the sequel at MY best buy here in Austin, i passed tho. I really didnt think the first one lived up to the hype it recieved and the wolf just looked sad for a post 2000 year released movie. No thanks.....i'll wait for the dog soldiers sequel, granted two VERY different takes on the werewolf genre, one i enjoyed.....ginger snaps..........not so much.....

That was the single DUMBEST response ive ever read on this site, and ive been here a WHILE. Agreed. And he was great in that role, but hes great in every role really. I liked Phipher in it as well but she was outshined by James Spader is that his name?? the guy that played the villian wolf, he was great.

I dont think ginger snaps 1 was a BAD movie by any means, i just think there are far better wolf movies, and Kruegarkid seems offended by that.......

Yes James Spader is a very underated actor. I remember one of his first movies...I think it was called ....aw fuck..hold on...let me check IMDB...it was with the girl who was in Full House...got it.."The New Kids"...he played a real prick. Good movie.

Well, not really a classic. I think the movie is a bit slow, it doesn't have the feel of a stand alone movie and is very well aware that a sequel is in the works. That's what I really don't like about franchise movies. But, all in all, the movie was passable. But, it's not really something I'll watch again and again (as opposed to watching a Dario Argento flick). :D

If you like it so much because of the satire and tongue-in-cheek humour i could more understand your point. The characters are well done, and it has its funny moments...

The werewolf animatronics and cheesy look were the movies downfall IMO...
