View Full Version : F***ing HOT!
it is categorically unfair that we in the northeast who have to shovel piles and piles of snow now have to endure triple digit heat! i am sitting in my un-air conditioned apartment, feeble rotating fan blowing hot air with an ice pack strapped to my head (which i have to periodically share with my panting drooling little puppy - who DOES NOT like the heat). . . GRRRRR!

That sucks. Our heat wave finally passed after a lot of people died, and now it's only 85 outside. I can't wait for fall....I bet you can't either.

No ac here either and although I can handle it there are a lot of people who can't. I agree with the unfair part though, over 100 in the summer and deep negative temps in the winter... BS. I'd rather have winter.

way too hot on this side of the pond too, and living inland we don't even get a breeze off the sea!!!
only place we have a/c is at work and that keeps breaking down!!! apparently won't work if temp goes above 37 so they can't fix it till the temp comes down...thank god they relaxed the dress code, been going to work dressed for the beach :D

My last apartment didn't have air conditioning, and I'll never do that again. Even living at 4000 feet, it was miserably hot. I made that a top priority when I leased this one.

i used to live in a 3rd floor apartment that faced the sun all day, with 0 ac. it was routinley 92 at 2 in the morning, regardless of fans.
Now i live in a mobile home, but we have 3 acs, ac in both cars, and i work in a gigantic air conditioned megastructure, so im good.
Oh yeah, also in the northeast.
this will all come back to bite me tonight on the way home from work when my car is 180 inside and takes 30 minutes to cool down to a bearable level.

i know exactly what you're going through, this is my third year of marching band and each year it seems to get hotter. blacktop completely sucks!
but it sounds like my band director might be a little nicer than yours. we're only out there 7:30 to 4:30 with an hour lunch break and music rehearsal inside for a couple hours.

i officially loathe the heat, sun, anything connected to it. i am so fucking pissed off right now i can't see straight. the worst part is i'm weak, my eyes hurt, i'm sunburned, and i feel completely and totally empty inside.
one of my rabbits died today from the heat. it was Stormy, there's a picture somewhere in the picture thread i'm just too lazy to post a link to it. sorry.
whatever, my mom told me when she picked me up from band today. that's a lousy way to end a day that was going pretty good. i've cried, now i'm just really tired.

Heat Advisory until next Thursday around here.
Today Heat Index:115
Is it just my faulty memory or is everybody playing up this heat thing?
Like it's never been this hot before and this is just so strange and extraordinary, etc.???
I remember around 1995-96? there was a tremendous heat wave and being warned by local news stations to stay out of the sun from noon to 3pm,because the heat and the UV danger was at extreme levels.
And I remember 1989 and a few years before- the same thing.
I was looking at the Bank temp and thinking "It CANNOT possibly be this hot"!
It seems to me there is alot more of this !!PANIC NOW!! from TV weather people.
Maybe I am just suffering from memory loss caused by this insane evil HELLLIKE heat that has taken over the WORLD.:D

Hey, I'll take the heat over shoveling four feet of snow only to have some idiot snowplow clog the driveway for the third time ANY DAY. I love summer. I get to go repair computers at the campus where all the co-eds are trying to stay cool :D
Uh, don't tell wifey I said that. She's been reminding me a lot lately that she can legally kill me. Apparently she's been reading about a few women who got away with killing their significant others by claiming post-partum. So unless I'm on good behavior I got about a month to live (twins due next month).

I think she can still get away with it for SEVERAL months after the babies are born (at least I hope,MY plan isn't perfected yet:D )
Congrats to you and your wife:) and a tip for her: if she is near a pool-GO NOW,it is a godsend, especially the last month of this torturous gestational period.
well its finally wonderful here again - a crisp and dry 70 degrees outside. i even took my little puppy for a nice walk (he's been so lethargic with the heat) - the only problem was that I only had my left hand to hold the leash and the poop bag. still, now i'm on some painkillers and sitting on my balcony . . . ahh the wonder of it all!
