Blair Witch, Cannibal Holocaust, Night of the Living Dead

So I just bought thses 3 movies today and I never even seen them before

Watched Cannibal Holocaust(sp?) tonight... pretty crazy being that it feels so real. Sickening parts in it of course

Blair Witch was grand.....I can't believe I never watched it till now. The way they filmed it was great


STILL have yet to see the classic Night of the Living Dead

Good for you - all three movies are excellent, important horror/exploitation films.

Some might say BWP is influenced by the 'found footage' elements of Cannibal Holocaust, though apart from that the two are quite different in their execution.

All three films are downbeat, too.

Yeah I thought it was funny how I just watched them both and thought it was funny how it was using the same concept but like you said it is different

The Blair Witch Project is a pretty good movie, but I still think it's a little overrated. When the hype was gone, so was the movie.

Now, I dont agree with that at all.

I was way too young to understand or even hear much of the hype when Blair Witch came out. I watched it because I thought it looked good, and it scared the living bajeezus out of me, something that it can still do after probably 7-8 viewings. One of my favourite films, with or without the hype.

The hype was a direct result of the marketing for Blair Witch......which was genius.The two fold ads in Rolling Stone,the t.v. spots and the make believe timelines all paid off tenfold.

The Blair Witch was and is a low budget film with the marketing juggernaut behind it....and it entertained.

It is a testament to the power and importance of The Blair Witch Project when you consider how the very mention of its name can spark intense praise/distaste and divert threads from their natural course.

I'm personally getting a little tired of singing its praises, so unless anyone wants to discuss or denounce the cunning technical aspects and positive audience effects I would just tell detractors to forget the film's concept and stick with what you know.
