Go on Ebay and have a look see at prices on those...you can at least see what they might be worth on the Ebay market...

Fangorias website has the prices for pretty much every magazine I think numbers 1 through like 20 are about $50 bucks a copy.

If there cheap you should definatley pick them up dude. The early Fangoria issues are great. Way better than the shithouse later issues. Some issues go for heaps. I picked up a bunch for a couple of bucks a piece including the rare as hell Scanners head exploding cover. You might've found yourself a bargin!

I recommend to everyone--especially anyone who wasn't born yet when this magazine was around--to go on Ebay or wherever and grab a nice old issue of Famous Monsters. It was the template for all science fiction and horror magazines that followed. It's not just collectible--it's great fun to read! Like, a LOT of fun.
The 1980's issues are fairly cheap, the 1970's issues are somewhat affordable, the 1960's issues tend to be expensive and the late-1950's issues are through-the-roof expensive. I really recommend that everyone at least window shop and see what these things are like, they're neato ginchy.

I've got about 24 issues of FM on their way to me as we speak. I managed to get a bunch for $2 a piece. I think there mid 70s issues.

You got a great deal!!!!! FM is really the best thing in the world, next to...well, let's not get into that but really, FM is cool. If you can, share a couple of issues with people you think might like that sort of thing. I do that from time to time, let a few FMs go out into the world. Mail one to the friend in this state, and one to a friend in that state. There's a lot of magic in those pages!
I've got a few Fangoria's I would part with....some are in pretty good shape...some have covers missing.I would have to find them in my dungeon.......anybody interested, let me know.
This is a list of their back issues.....I'm pretty sure I don't have any before #46.

Nothing like giving someone an old, old magazine, or getting one from someone...it's a fun kind of gift.

I've got a lot of slaughterhouse mags when they first came out in the late 80s I guess. Lots of fango & some gore zone also. Man i use to love those. I had my bedroom wall covered with iron maiden posters & the fold out posters from horror mags. Good ol' days.

I picked up a stash of Gorezones last year that still had the posters inside so I've got a bunch of that freaky looking shit up on my wall. I've got a Fango poster mag I haven't ripped into yet I'll probably do that when I move into my new pad. Its got a pretty kickass Elvira poster and some other goodies!

I've gotta agree with crabapple. it's not about what those joints are worth in dollars, it's about the fun they can inspire. he's right. pass them along to kids. plant a seed. maybe you'll inspire the next Steve King or Jhon Carpenter!

As a matter of fact, I just posted some 70's/80's-era Famous Monsters issues for pretty reasonable prices. Not dirt cheap but fairly low prices, might be fun for the curious. I've also got DVDs, a 70's-era horror sound effects record, even a TEMPLAR SANTA CLAUS doll.
