Lakewood Police Warn Of Attacks In Fort Steilcoom Park
Lakewood, Washington -- Lakewood police are warning people to stay out of Fort Steilacoom Park at night because of attacks by people who identified themselves as Juggalos -- followers of the Detroit rap group Insane Clown Posse.
A police lieutenant, Dave Guttu, says 23 people were attacked last week. They were beaten with sticks and had wallets, cell phones and shoes stolen. One attacker intimidated victims with a machete.
Police believe the attackers are the same group of men in the teens and early 20s. They told their victims they were Juggalos.
Police say all the victims were in the park at night against the rules. Officers have conducted three operations since then and handed out tickets for being in the park after hours and possession of marijuana.
