I see this all the time and I can never figure out what the little buggers are trying to do. They'll sit on a wall on a nice bright day, they'll scurry across the wall and stop some where, and there they'll go, up, down, and back up again. This irritates me when I see it! I think they are doing it to annoy me.
Anyone know what the hell is going on here?

They heard a rumor that the Japanese were doing a remake of Godzilla, and they're all in training. Seriously, I've always wondered that too.

It's probably some sort of lizard challenge...you know to establish dominance and physical prowess. They're calling you out, don't let some cold blooded fly eating bottom feeder make a monkey of you!
Do what I do,think of the Geico lizard(cockney smart-ass)drinking your last beer....then stomp on the bastard!

The lizards where I grew up would do that, hop up and down in the front like a vato cruiser, and then they would swell up their throats, which were red. They did that to look for a girlfriend... I guess it's the lizard equivalent to flirting.

the answer to your problem lies in an Official Red Ryder Carbine-Action Two-Hundred-Shot Range Model Air Rifle.

That's it!!!!!!! THAT is why they're always smiling...it's because of their regenerative powers...
Salamanders are laughing at people!
