Uh... it made lots of sense. o_O
Give it a chance, y'know. It's a trilogy so a lot only clicks later on. Patience, much?

wtf...sounds like someone who saw the Matrix for the first time and said "wth was that all bout? Didnt make any sense to me."
Patience gurl. Watch it from start to finish, scene by scene, and savor the unique blend of horror and action.
This one is pure gold. :)
(P.S. - Get DayWatch and DuskWatch too when they release.)

Actually, we watched about an hour of it. Didn't care much for it or the Matrix for that matter. As far as a cyber-slap? Give me one smart ass.

Regardless of how much you watched, you can't complain about not understanding a movie you don't finish.
Come on, guys! That shit's for rookies!

Ha! I knew i could count on you replying Alky. I dont recall personally complaining about the movie, I just stated that I didn't like it. Our taste can differ when it comes to horror movies, meaning the wifes and mine. As far as being a rookie because i didnt finish it, ok... but its hard for me to finish a movie i dont like, especially when i have several others in my collection that i have yet to see. Not to mention the ones from netflix sitting on the counter. Besides, I'm more of a fan of classic horror than modern horror.

damn I see that some things never change around here... smart asses everywhere!
it wasn't a question of not having patience, it was just that it was all over the place and nothing was happening to keep me interested.
I just want to see a decent horror flick that leaves me saying
" now that was a great movie" ya know?

well, when you say you only watched 15min. of a movie and you didn't like it you'll tend to get that response... a movie, or anything for that matter shouldn't be judged on its parts, but as a whole. i'm not sucking night watch's dick, it's still sitting on my coffee table unwatched, but for me, i know i need to read the entire book, listen to the entire album, and watch the entire movie b/f i start critiquing it.

Ya I under exaggerated that 15 minutes... actually that's when I started saying "we can turn this off anytime you want " it was more like an hour I guess, It was a bit after some dude put his fist inside someone's chest and threw a stuffed owl out the window.
I respectfully disagree with your assessment of when it's "kosher" to critique movies, music, and books... I'd rather do nothing at all than force myself to continue indulging in something that's not enjoyable :)

i hear you... case in point: i stoped reading the da vinci code after 30 pages b/c i could stand the way dan brown wrote. its just when you pass judgement on a flick w/ this group, you better be ready for the backlash. society as a whole is a critic.

Night Watch isnt groundbreaking or anywhere near the best horror film to have ever come out - but it's solid and enjoyable... well, it was for me.
when i heard about this 'russian' horror flick i expected something shoddy and uneven .. sort of like the cinematic version of a Lada.
instead i found it to be stylish and competent .. the acting as well as the direction and cinematography.
it had an interesting story and overall i thought it was a fun movie that exceeded my expectations.
but as far as being hard to understand ..... ?
whats to understand ... good guys vs bad guys.

Dan Brown's a shit writer - no arguements from me.

Individual choices does differ from person to person. Maybe you felt towards Nightwatch what I felt towards Casablanca. I dont blame you one bit.
But for me, someone who has been starved of good horror movies for a long while, NightWatch came as a real surprise. Trust the russians to follow the japs in the novelty of horror movie making, and they havent disappointed at all. Its the great old premise, packed and rejuvenated into a brand new and shining armour. The plot, the pace and the direction create some really great atmosphere. Once one is immersed, its a pacy, enjoyable flick.

finally watched "night watch" last night... i really enjoyed it. i felt the tension b/tw light and dark. i also like how the line b/tw good and evil was skewed. nice twist at the end, sets up for the next installment. overall: 7.5-10.
*flip the disk over to watch the original version w/ subtitles b/c the dubbed side is a bit awkward.
