Wrestling is cool, but I never get to watch it. I used to be a big fan in the late 80s/early 90s but nowadays I don't have time to watch much. I just catch bits & pieces here & there.

Although.... We did just get a DVR box so maybe I should just start recording it and then I can watch it when thwe ol' lady isn't around, since she's the main reason I dont get to see it as it is.

The only thing is... It's kinda hard to get back in to when I barely recognize anyone on there nowadays. I'm always like "Who the hell is this dude?"

They need to bring back Papa Shango. Then I'd be all over it.

And now a lil something just to jumpstart the conversation, since I can't really talk about current events in the WWE....

My favorite 5 heels of all time....

Mr. Perfect, Curt Hennig
Million Dollar Man, Ted Dibiase
Rick Rude
Papa Shango
The Rock (in his prime)

I like the fact that ECW is back but it just isn't the same... anyway, good stuff I really like wrestling.

The STE

the ECW thing could've been great if they'd added one thing: The Network. If you watched ECW on TNN then you know what I mean. During that stupid-ass thing where the girl was stripping for no reason, just have Cyrus coming out saying "Excuse me! Excuse me!" before sending her to the back. Then maybe shilling some Sci-Fi original movies. Add some gimmicky wrestlers in place of the Dupps, put CM Punk in the Steve Corino role, you've got some wrestling gold goin'. As it stands, the only thing I really liked was The Zombie.

Bwind, they kindof have Papa Shango. They call him The Boogeyman now, though. I think he might be out with an injury at the moment, but if you get the Wrestlemania 22 DVD he has a match on that

I saw a profile on The Boogeyman a couple months ago & had to laugh. His gimmick looks retarded & much less convincing than Pap Shango was for me when I was like 12. But I hear he's actually gettng over with the crowd pretty well.

I'll have to check out WM22 to see what he's all about.

He smashes clocks on his head, walks like he's having a seizure, eats worms and occasionally spits them on people and he's gotta lame finisher(if it's in fact his finisher at all, seen him to do a few times to get the pin so I'm guessing it is).

I meant is Sandman done wrestling any real matches or is the whole vs. gimmick thing just temporary.

Well, I think the plan originally was for the old garde ECW wrestlers to be there to put over the new generation of wrestlers. But the whole thing has been such a debacle overall that I don't know what the deal is anymore

Kahli is a sloppy wrestler and a killer (read on his history, ass didn't even know how to powerbomb somebody). Hopefully this marks his end in the WWE. As far as the match I hear it's more like the ring will be surrounded by a cage with barbed wire. The two contestants will be able to use it as a weapon. There might be barbed wire on the floor so no one can escape, that way they'll have to stay in and fight to the "death". Supposedly weapons like a screwdriver and somebody said even mud... who knows, could be cool.

I'm in the process of sorting out all the toys in the house and finally got all of them together ..

Prefer TNA to WWE / ECW, it is more for people who don't want to see the same 12 moves repeated every week. With the likes of AJ Styles,Christopher Daniels, Samoa Joe (Umaga is such a crap rip off) and Sonjay Dutt, the wrestling is so different. 6 sided ring aswell, makes it faster than the standard 4 sided.

It is a real shame about ECW though, they are now on about phasing the originals out and new talent only. Not by story line either, VM feels that they don't fit in with his brand of ECW and should be dropped.

Oh and totally agree about the Diva Search, it is bad when at wrestlemania this year 3 minutes was cut out of one match for the DVD coz of sloppy wrestling, the match was Trish Stratus vs Mickie James. Women can wrestle, just leave them doing that.

I should point out Randy Orton & Big Show was accused at the same time and wth woman left the WWE. Big Show took most of the blame, but Angle was involved.

Angle was needing a really long vacation 3 years ago. His body is completely shot and he was suspended over a really bad addiction to painkillers. He's been one stiff bump away from being done for good for a while now. They had to fire him to give him some time off because he wouldn't have taken it on his own and if he kept going I wouldn't have been surprised if he died by the end of the year.

Kurt Angle says he's done with wrestling _ for now

The Associated Press

PITTSBURGH - Former Olympic heavyweight wrestling champion Kurt Angle says is he leaving entertainment wrestling, even though he is not formally announcing his retirement.

Angle said he decided to stop wrestling for World Wrestling Entertainment Inc. after he injured his groin, tore an abdominal muscle and injured a hamstring during an Aug. 13 event in White Plains, N.Y.

The 37-year-old Angle, a former high school wrestling and football star at Mount Lebanon High School in the Pittsburgh area, has been a wrestler/entertainer for seven years for WWE. According to the company's Web site, Angle received an early release from his contract after he no longer wanted to take pain medication to compete.

Angle said he needs time to heal before he begins to think about wrestling again and the WWE told him he can return when he wants.

A two-time NCAA Division I wrestling champion at Clarion University in western Pennsylvania, Angle won the 220-pound championship at the 1996 Olympics in Atlanta, defeating Iran's Abbas Jadidi for the gold medal despite competing with a badly injured neck.

Angle dropped to his knees on the mat and openly wept after being awarded the decision by the mat officials after he and Jadidi wrestled to a 1-1 draw during the eight-minute match.

After winning the gold medal, Angle left amateur wrestling and became a Pittsburgh TV sportscaster for a brief period, then became an entertainment wrestler in 1998.

exactly. I wasn't kidding when I said I wouldn't have been surprised if Angle had died by years end had he not gotten fired. I honestly believe Angle would've kept going on until he was dead. But I can't even begin to imagine the media shit-storm WWE would receive if Angle died just 10 years after he won the medal. That'd be worse than Eddie and Owen combined (not saying Angle himself is more important than them, I'm only talking about press coverage). WWE firing him was, sad to say, the best thing for all involved

Kurt Angle has officially signed with TNA!!! They claim that he has been in training for around a month getting used to the ring and generally keeping himself in shape.

If this is true, then WWE's original stand point of injury would be a lie.

Now he has left the WWE who do you think will state the real reason first?

The STE

this is a bad idea. Kurt was a (barely) walking bag of injuries, there's no way he's healed up enough yet. The only thing that's GOOD about this is that TNA's schedule is lighter. But it's still too much for Kurt right now

I agree its not so good if the injury is real, but I do wonder if it is.

Triple H had a knee injury, that required surgery. He was off for nearlly a year, could hardly walk for around 8 months. Yet he made Blade Trinity? Which he is in the Special Edition through out.

With special effects now adays they could easy make an authentic looking leg operation.

I think he had a slight injury, but not as bad as made out.

I read a report about Kurt stormed out of the main office in foul mood.

I think he was asking for a lighter schedule, but the WWE wouldn't give him the time off.

ECW came about and it worked for a while, but I think he saw it as a step backwards and his contract expired leaving him to sign a contract.

Normally it is 90 days before they can either sign a contract or officially join another company, Christian Cage could only do this after his contract ran out.

So it does look like Kurt was out of contract.

kayfabe is one thing, but Angle's been going non-stop for years. He's scary to look at, his eyes are glazed, and most of his reported injuries haven't even been mentioned on TV. Angle shouldn't be wrestling. He should take a year off at least, if not just retire out-right. There's nothing kayfabe about that.

I'll post pix tomorrow when i get them developed. Mostly got ECW stars, but a few Smackdown guys. First match of the night was a dark match between Gymini & Kendrick + London. Gymini grabbed my beer off of the railing and moved it 5ft down the aisle, funny as hell. Then after the match London walked by and picked up my beer and acted liked he was gonna drink it. PERFECT SEATS! When Joey and Taz came out Joey reached for my beer like he was gonna drink it then smiled and walked off, i was marking out by now! olo Oh well, still had a great time!

Big Show is HUGE! Last time they were here i got to meet him. I shook his hand and he made it disappear...and i have good size hands. He was really cool after his match last week. He broke character and slapped hands with the fans and had the biggest smile on his face.
