Thanks for posting. Oh my gosh, that is a great price for a great disc set. I'm a squid for this set, it really is awesome, like a whole world of Dawn of the Dead in a fold-out box.

No problemo, just spreading the joy. I still can't even believe the price!

Yeah, every once in a while nowadays, a mega mondo version of a film will come out, with everything including the kitchen sink, and some other stuff besides for good measure. The Milennium Edition of "Night of the Living Dead" is a good example...they packed a surprising amount of stuff onto one disc, and all on a single side! Same thing with the 2-disc version of "Zombi 2/Zombie." Way more stuff on that disc than can be absorbed by the human mind. "Dawn of the Dead Ultimate Edition" probably beats everyone else, with its three different versions of the film, in addition to commentaries, docs, and assorted etcetera.

Oh yah. I live for this kind of shit. It's so nice to have things like this in your collection.

I have the Zombi 2 2-disc, but not the NOTLD ME. I should probably get that. Is it worth it if I have 2 or 3 versions of the film already? I mean, sell me on these extras.

Really? Okay, you're on. It's got TWO commentaries featuring just about everyone they could get their hands on, cast and crew both. If they were alive and available, they got them to sit in on one of the commentaries. Even Vince Survinski, who had I think one line ("There's someone inside there, I heard a noise") is in there, commenting away. The commentary tracks are like two little parties.

Then you get a collection of Latent Image commercials so you can see Romero and company exercising their workaday skills. Great.

Audio interview with Duane Jones. Fascinating.

Interview with Judith Ridley.

The movie is THX certified, crystal clear, and can be listened to in its original monaural sound or in 5.1 surround stereo (created by processing the mono track). The stereo version is subtle and creepy, expands the experience of the film into the room you're sitting in.

Short spoof "Night of the Living Bread." Nufsed.

Still gallery with color photos. Posters and props. Scrapbooks.

Scenes from "There's Always Vanilla."

Trailers and TV spots.

A couple of other extra things just for good measure.

It's not on sale here, but Ive been thinking of buying this anyway. It's a little expensive for my liking, around $40 here, but this is a film that I really need to own. And damn, what a cool set! I think I'll probably get it next paycheck...

Let me tell you, Return, as a kid to a kid. It's worth every penny you pay for it, no matter if you buy it full price or get it on sale.

Yeah, the Dawn of the Dead DVDs (two of the versions in the box set, and also those versions available as single discs) are in Stereo too! The American theatrical cut appears to have had a total remix, which after listening to it a couple of times, really is pretty good. A couple of moments make the stereo effect fairly hard to miss (the guy falling off the roof, Flyboy's ricocheting bullets). Goblin's music can finally be heard in stereo. Kind of neat, since we were watching monaural VHS tapes (and laserdiscs) for ages and ages!
