This is a new thread for anyone who is going to rent any genre of movie, but isn't sure what they want. You post requests and people give feedback... Enjoy.
I'm going today, and I can get 3 movies, I want 2 action and 1 horror, but i'm not sure what I want.
Horror> Something thrilling, fun, with good jump outs, that I hopefully haven't seen before. Maybe zombies or a slasher or even a creature/sci fi, but no vampires or werewolves today.
Action> Was thinking kill bill V.1, because I haven't seen it in forever, but not sure, would anyone recommend it? Is it fast paced?
Any other sci fi/ action movies you can think of? That are (Good)

Kill Bill vol.1 is actually very, very good...It has great pace, and you ll fall in love with some of the fight sequences...I m surprised you havent seen it yet Posh...
If you want slasher, I d suggest Intruder. Its a great movie, with plenty of gore and original kills.
Zombies, then go for the Serpent And the Rainbow. Or Dead Heat, it has some pretty cool effects.
Creature flick, the Descent or Dog Soldiers. Two of the best ones I ve come to love recently.
Sci-Fi/Action, then Minority Report definitely. Although I m not sure which ones you have already seen, I d recommend Blade Runner too.
(btw I apologise for jumping your ass and being snappy in the "guess the movie" thread)

I have seen it, but it was long ago.
And I resolved the other thread incident in the thread, no probs.
I'm considering Serpent and the rainbow and Blade Runner. I've seen blade runner but don't remember much, does it have great fight scenes, etc? And tell me more about serpent.

Your 2 action can be taken up by Kill Bill vol. 1 & 2. Great flicks, great action.
As far as horror:
Slasher - If you haven't seen it, give Sleepless a shot. Great newer, mostly over-looked Argento flick.
Creature - Maybe Monster Man? Cheesy as all hell, but the creature is cool. Great B-camp fun. If you haven't seen it (you probably have) check out The Relic.

I could tell you what I have in my queue at Netflix, but it would take forever for me to type it - I have over 200 movies in the queue!! :D
BTW, I agree about Dog Soldiers - I love it!

Blade Runner is THE definitive Sci-Fi movie. Fight sequences...well...there are some really good ones(including the chase), and the movie rocks!
The Serpent And the Rainbow was made by Wes Craven. Basically, the movie is about an American scientist who goes to Haiti to find the powders that create zombies. Its based on a book by Wade Davis. You ll love it.
I ve got one more recommendation for slashers. Sleepaway Camp. Usually slashers have teens in em, this one has kids, and has a shocking ending too.
If you wanna see a creature flick, and something original, then check out The Descent. Its one of the best creature flicks I ve seen in a long time. I dont know if its available over there, cuz its a UK movie which has been released in the US. See if you can find it.

Blade Runner really affected me deeply the first time I saw it. I must have been eleven or twelve and I remember sitting in the living room crying over Rutger Hauer's character. Definitely one of the better sci-fi movies available today. And the Serpent and the Rainbow is really good because it's rooted in truth, witch doctors who practice voodoo really did have ways of creating "zombies."
Unless you're into horrible movies, don't rent Breeders or Metamorphosis: The Alien factor, whatever you do. Actually, if you want to laugh MTAF is so bad I cracked up through the whole thing, but Breeders only made me laugh for the first twenty minutes and after that it just made me yell at the t.v. I get involved too much with what I'm watching lol.
If you want a more unconventional story, try Ravenous. That's set right up from where I live and it made me kind of freak out....
