What's your opinion of the most Underrated/Underviewed horror film.

"There's Nothing Out There" and "Martin" are mine.

I was foiled when I finally tried to watch Martin last weekend. Rented it, brought it home, and my old and creaky VCR promptly decided to die that instant! Of course they didn't have the DVD of it either. So I will try again once my vcr is replaced. sigh.
Anyway I would add Wild Zero and Forbidden Zone to the list!

I have a few that I think are underappreciated. Some folks will disagree, but I don't care.

Jack Be Nimble, Dead and Buried, The Curse, Ghost Town, Deranged, and Horror Express to name a few off the top of my head.

It was really good, but I'm still not sure if he was a vampire or not.

Have you seen Vampire's Kiss with Nick Cage? That also leaves you unsure. At least the character is unsure if he's a vampire anyway. Very freaky! Also pretty under-rated and obscure.

I haven't seen any of these! I'll have to add to my list. I've heard Jack be Nimble is great from a few sources. Which 'the curse' i've heard there are a few with that title.

Yes, Jack Be Nimble is very odd, but very good. The Curse I'm talking about stars Wil Wheaton and was produced by Fulci. Good, gross flick.

Okay, I'm not saying that this is the BEST movie, by any means, but I do think that it was too good for no one to have heard of it...So, cheer me up, and tell me that you've seen the movie "Boltneck" and that you thought it was pretty good...:)

No I haven't, I think I have heard of it. Is it kinda of a "Once Bitten" comedy?

It's not that kind of wacky comedy, more dark and weird but it has twistedly funny moments. You see Cage go completely over the top as a nasty corporate yuppie boss who thinks he's turning into a vampire. He totally flips out. It is harrowing and funny.

I have to many favorite movies, since this one is not a horror, so I thought no one would chose it, I choose it as my favorite

The post was about movies that no one has heard of though. I think there was a misunderstanding.:D

BTW, I like Pulp Fiction too.

I'll agree that they are GREAT films, but I don't know about underappreciated. Maybe by the folks that can't handle subtitles. Brotherhood caused quite a stir when it came out, a lot of critics loved it. I do think the hardcore horror fans probably don't accept it as a horror flick. I know I love it.

Great picks I loved them both, "Brotherhood" is in my collection and Ron Pearlman was great in "COLC". I also watched "Blood for Dracula" the other night and that was really good.

i know people have heard of this and i guess you could call it mainstream but i really like dracula 2000. it was'nt really that popular so i guess i can put it on this thread. even if you guys hated the movie you have to admit that gerald butler was just awsome.

To me one of the most underated horror movies is Cemetary Man

I too like The Curse and Jack Be Nimble a whole lot. The eighties straight-to-video Scarecrows directed by William Wessley (who followed it up 15 or so yrs later with the horrible Route 666). And speaking of The Curse, I liked the 2nd one, Curse 2: The Bite. Deathdream and Deranged are really cool, and I LOVE Children Shouldn't Play With Dead Things. All that movie needs to be the ultimate cult flick is a nude scene!!!!

Scarecrows was great. I finally found it on video recently. It's a shame that his long awaited follow-up sucked so hard. It even had Lou Diamond in it and was almost unwatchable.

Anything by Del Toro is worth checking out. The only film of his I didn't care for was Mimic.

Has ANYONE seen Office Killer?...It's gory AND twisted...If you haven't seen it, you're missing out...It's also funny, in a psychotic sort of way...:)
