And the fact that he has movies repeated more then once on the list. I love it. Oooh, KING KONG WAS TERRIFYING. So was The Village >_< couldn't sleep for weeks! Those trees, dear lord, they're everywhere! Mmm Creepshow, I agree with you there, jesus christ - remind me never to watch that one again. My nails took a beating! Joyride on 53 and 42, hm? Yeah - that had to be the most horrific movie I've seen - definately deserves TWO spots on the list. :) And I don't know what people are thinking when they see "Stand By Me", because hell... I'd put that in my top 10. Lardass is worse then the boogeyman.

i thought we were talking about moments - not whole movies.

to keep this on topic (even thought he thread starter didnt) :

- the chandelier falling in The Changeling
- the initial face hugger attack in Alien
- the hall of razorblades in Tales From the Crypt
- the abduction sequence of the cop in The Forgotten (1st thing to make me jump in years)
- the cat kid in the closet in Ju-on or the Grudge
- the prolongued hallway shot and the old lady with the sheers from excorsist III

thats about all i can remember.

One of the greatest moments in horror movie history, IMO. I also love the confessional booth scene. Creepy as hell.

They're HIS scariest moments, not yours, chill out detractors.

I think a couple of the "scary moments" I remember were from films I watched when I was younger like It, Watcher in the Woods, Lady in White, and The Exorcist. Can you elaborate on some of the more obscure ones Shadow? I am interested as to what scared you in Tremors and Twister. Also, are you afraid of dinosaurs? King Kong and Jurassic Park are on your list so...

hey man, i didnt even see it ... i left the theatre and went into the lobby - i was terrified.

i found it several years later - i think i have a dub of it ... but that part is still blanked out of my mind.

that was the most terrified i've ever been in a theatre ...
given it was probably playing in canada a year after being released in the uk - i was probably 12 when i saw it .. and back then we werent so jaded as the kids are today..

i'd love to have it on DVD now ..

Well, I wasn;t going to comment on your original list. But now that you've put down one of Hitchcock's masterpieces, I will.

Most of those, besides Willy Wonka and Wizard of Oz, are classic horror movies...many, if not all of which, I'm guessing you've never seen.

Go check out some real horror, pal.

But I suppose there's no hope...

Which Willy Wonka scene? The psyodelic boat ride? Or any of these scenes where children almost died? The Birds had multiple scenes that were "scarier" than many in your list, like Twister & Tremors.

Just wondering what scene from Scream was scarier than A Nightmare on Elm Street. The bit where Johnny Depp got sucked into the bed and then spat back up onto the ceilng, I nearly died the first time i saw that.

I think they're both equally unscary.

I think they're both decent enough movies, but I'd say NOES is one of the most overrated horror films ever.

Scream: Sidney's first chase scene.

The opening scene

The twisted unveiling of the killer(s) at the end, if you've seen it you might know what i mean.

The overall morbidism of what's actually happening...

NOES has one of the biggest jumps ever though

i dont know if i can recommend this movie.
I liked it ... but hardly anyone else did.

it certainly had a couple of memorable scenes .. more than a lot of other crap out there.
