sheepish- adj. 1. bashful; shy; reticent. 2. embarassed through shame.

In other words, it has nothing to do with the animal, sheep. No baaah jokes.:D

Anyway...

Um... does anyone have a spare copy of Deep Red or Suspiria or both lying around someplace? Can I have them?:)

I am horribly terribly and monstrously ashamed to admit I haven't seem them yet, and I'm broke.

This is really stupid of me, I'm sure, but nothing ventured, nothing gained, as they say.

Ah, I gave my copy of Deep Red away a while ago. I like both movies, but Deep Red is totally the favorite, especially the European (longer) cut, which has more thinky dialogue and a bit more violence--sort of an intellectual slasher film. Reeeeeaaallly satisfying! Good luck finding these, surely some will turn up.

Once again I'll comment on "Deep Red" and "Suspiria," this time to point out the good things in "Suspiria."

It is extremely nightmarish. The first time I saw it, it was the really nasty uncut version, and it was almost too much for me. Ohhhh what a horrible experience that was! Very scary. Very very scary. Not thinky like "Deep Red/Profondo Rosso" --cut from totally different cloth, in some respects.

Not wanting to let a good thing go unshared, I purchased a copy of "Suspiria" back in the 90's and took it to show to some friends. One fellow had never seen it in any form, cut or uncut. This fella was a big, tough guy. Really MACHO, a man's man...you know what I mean. And the first 20 minutes of "Suspiria" reduced him to screaming, shrieking jello. He was crawling on the floor, pounding the floor, barely able to look at the screen. It almost drove him out of the room! It freaked him out, totally. It was the strangest thing, to see that.

Oh, but you should have been there. For a couple of weeks I was bringing movies over there to see how this fellow would react.

Other films that freaked this person out were:

"Tetsuo: The Iron Man"

and

"Demons"
