So, at about 3 or 4 in the morning, I was woken up to my mom coming into my room, saying into her phone; "I need an ambulence, I think my husband might be having a heart attack"

So the next 3 and a half hours were spent in the emergency room. So far the tests have come back normal, so it wasn't a heart attack but I don't know what the deal was. He's supposed to come home tomorrow

But seriously, hope everything works out.

That is a shitty wake up call.

I hope it turns out to be something trivial and set right.

Good Luck.

I wonder...did you get that whole cold adrenaline thing going on?
The buzzing? The "kinda" numbness?
What kind of symptoms was your father having? Did you look?

It might've been an arythmia, maybr the first sign of hypotension...not a heart attack, but something that would more than likely feel rather strange, and potentially troubling...hmm.

Hope both you and your dad are doing well today. I've had to do the middle of the night emergency room thing with both my parents a few times. It's pretty scary. Mom's gone now, hopefully dad will stay healthy. Hope your dad has a speedy recover. Take care STE.

I wonder if he had a panic attack... It's possible. Severe panic attacks can come at any moment and mimic the symptoms of a heart attack to a T. It could be entirely possible that he was having a nightmare and launched into a panic attack.

Be that as it may, I hope your dad gets better. Be sweet to him during his period of convalescence.

his symptoms at the time were cold/claminess and chest pains just below the left breast part of his chest (that's all as far as I know)

They're gonna do a stress test tomorrow and he'll probably get released then

THX to all the peoples wishing us well

Well, let us know as soon as you hear something. I'll be sending some good healing energy his way.

Very sorry to hear of your troubles Sam.Here's hoping his test prove to be nothing more than a little stress related anxiety.

he's home from the hospital, from what he says it was stress-related muscle spasms and reflux, so everything's pretty much fine

I feel for your dad STE. Thankfully, he didn't have a heart attack (for the schmucks who didn't read STE's posts). But, I feel bad for you too. 1.) Your dad could've had a heart attack and 2.) You got a bad wake-up call. Just think of it this way. At least you didn't wake up next to that creepy Burger King mascot. *shudders*
