I'm looking at my room and I notice that I have everything from Evil Dead shotglasses to bobble heads. Do you think that a movie can be over-merchandized?

I remember when Godzilla came out a couple of years ago that stuff was everywhere. I think it can detract from the quality of the movie if it gets too out of hand. Just takes away the artistic value. Though I don't think that's the case with Evil Dead.

I feel the same way as you do Myers. When The Hulk came out, he was EVERYWHERE. He was on freakin' snack cakes and popcorn and shit. Talk about overkill.

the only ones that get over merchandised are like the little disney movies or movies that people have background info on like godzilla or the hulk or x-men, stuff like that.

So you don't think it's going to far to have Freddy and Jason snow-globes, Evil Dead lunchboxes, and Leatherface christmas lights? I think they are cool collectibles, but at the same time I'm wondering if they are just trying to suck us out of our money. Just a thought.

No, I think it's kinda cool for die-hard horror fans.
I like collecting horror memerablia like posters at such.
I don't know for sure but I've heard there is a Friday the 13th Pinball machine. I haven't seen one though.
When I saw Freddy's Dead in the theater I kept the 3-d Glasses. I still have those.
I know there is a ton of Freddy Kreuger merchandise.
I have a Nightmare on Elm St. coloring book, that I've never marked in.

I still have my glasses from Freddy's Dead as well. There is a House Party II ad on the side of them. Haha.

Okay, what I'm trying to say is that commercialism seems to be running amok. Disney IS supposed to be the evil empire, not indie horror. Oh well.

Marketing is A-number 1 right now for film companies. Some movies advertising and merchandising can cost more that the movie itself.

What annoys me is the fact that they put out stuff before the film even comes out. Spiderman, Hulk, X men all of it. Everybody is using the Cat in the Hat in their commercials. All they do is HYPE HYPE HYPE. Disney is the worst but I think that all the advertising campaign blitzs and the garbage that they put out take away from the art of film making. Dont get me wrong I have almost every McFarlan monster ever made and I love them all so I guess there is nothing wrong with it as long as the idea behind the film isnt to promote a bunch of action figures.

I wonder. It might be possible that the bomb that ends Earth will have a Disney Logo on it.

Evil Dead/Army of Darkness movies. If you haven't seen them, it's in your best interest to check them out.

i don't think a movie can be over merchandised as long as it deserves it and evil dead definatly deserves to be over everything.

Apparently quite a few of our posters. Several people on here have asked about them. Crazy, I know.
