By your statements, it would seem that you've all seen more than a few of these kinds of films in order to have really found them all that annoying...and you'll probably keep on watching them for as long as it takes to either give up on the genre completely, or keep holding on to the hope that you'll actually have a satisfying ghost movie experience.
Either way...if you're going to follow the same patterns, then there's no point complaining about it, and if you're gonna quit right now, it's not really worth comment.

Here you go, just what you need...

Slasherman and I both like ghost movies. Some of them have been a little campy as of late, but that's all right. In a particular genre you're apt to get a few duds here and there.

However, thanks for the trailer. That actually looks to be pretty good. It looks like it has something to do with the Bell Witch, but I don't think that's it. However, I'm definitely intrigued.

Looks like some good flicks may be coming out this spring, eh, gang? I certainly hope so, anyway.

I could handle a few more like 'Frighteners'...There don't seem to be many of those

Oh, I LOVE a good ghost movie. It's oneof my favorite thing@! But I don't like this cheesy crap ythat passes for a ghost movie nowadays, when I was smaller we did it with fifty cents and a rubber band and some tape, now there's all this emphasis on "showing the ghost" and the hip young cast and the stupiud loud noise, it is too clean, too bright, too produced, I don't feel no ghost in the modern ghostie movie. back in the day they made em better. Nowadays the only real ghost is the ghost of the ten dollars they lifted out of your wallet thank y0ou very much

Now, "The Frighteners" was different, entirely different thing altogether, being far MORE than just a ghost movie. And I liked "Ghost Ship" also, not quite so much, but it really wasn't bad. And again, too, it was a bigger concept than just a standard ghost story. Those two films both get a big woo hoo for aspiring to be something. But you know the kind of BAD movie I am taking about! YOU KNOW THE KIND IMEAN, the crap kind, I don't even want to name names, but I THINK YOUI KNOPW EXACTLY THE TYPE OF FILM I AM THINKING ABOUT< NOT JUST ONE FILM BUT A WHOLE SHLEW A WHOLE G+WRETCHED GROUP, it is enough to make me wqannta hurl my pancakes thank you very much

They should re-release Deep Red in Digital Sound. There's a slasher film that still holds up, I think.

Yes, yes you should. :p

Anyway, I agree with you. Ghost movies used to be very good. But now, they're just being shit on more than Courtney Love shits on everybody she knows! Enough of this bullshit! Bring back the good R-rated slasher movies! Damn, I miss the 80's! And I wasn't even born until 1991.

..I have heard there is a big difference between slashers and giallo....;) (but to me giallo belongs in the slasher sub genre)

Well, personally, I feel that the term "giallo" came first, and when the slasher wave hit in the 80's, everyone said "Huh? What?" so they said "What do we call these movies? Oh yeah, well, they have slashers in them, let's call 'em slasher films so people will know what the heck we are talking about."

No, let's call them "Girls with Big Tits Running Through the Woods and Getting Killed All the Time By Somebody Who's Walking," or GBTRTWGKATBSWW... That's still too long.

Slashers works for me too.

:D

And haunted found one of the reasons why I loved scream so much, no crappy acting skanks! A plus. Boobs are fine in the RIGHT SITUATION. FvJ is a perfect example of using boobs in a stupid way.

You know what Posher, I had a Scream moment while at my bro's house. (Well, except for the dude with the mask and knife, because he was scared of me). Anyway, the garage was pitch dark, and I was trying to find my way around, a la Rose McGowan. However, my hair isn't blonde, my tits are bigger, and I wasn't looking for beer. I was looking for my Tori Amos CD.

Okay, that's my little story. Oh yeah, I ran into the same gas can twice, but that's stupid.

it seems to me that - generally speaking - there are two kinds of horror fans: those who find the supernatural really scary and the 'natural/real' killer not so scary (often with reasoning like "i could fight off a guy with a knife, but how could you fight off a demonic spirit") -and- those who find the natural/real scary and the supernatural silly ("dude, there are no 'ghosts' but there really ARE guys with chainsaws in the backwoods of texas")
