Yes, it is raining in Los Angeles now, and I have some nice hot coffee here and it's warming me up. I need it, because it's definitely cold! Well. Maybe those of you who are also having fun with rain might take a moment to write a few thoughts down. Here's mine: I love the sound of falling rain! Not so much heavy rain, but like, you know, a moderate rain--that drip drip drop little April shower type thingie. Okay, your turn.

OH YEAH!!!!!! NOW I remember! It's raining. So what movie do I watch?? I can never decide. Please give me your suggestions for rainy day movies. If you suggest it and I watch it, you get a no-prize! Yes you heard that correctly!

I love a good thunderstorm. I tend to get in a really dark room and open the blinds to let the lightning in. To me that is the most relaxing "music" in the universe. It's really nice when you've got really soft soft music in the back ground. Other than that I love to lie in the bed a listen to Mother Nature strut Her stuff. I like to have the windows slightly open too; the smell of a thunderstorm is so alive and sweet

When it's misty and rainy, I either read or write. I usually have a hot cuppa by my side. Again, my windows are usually open to smell the sweet perfume of rain. There's nothing like it in the world; there's no way to bottle it either.

I think thunderstorms and rainstorms clear the air. I also think they clean the mind and invigorate the soul. Total rejuvenation.l

It's not Horror, filmmaker, but it's a nice topic.

We have a nice thunderstorm going at HDC. For us, it's a pretty violent storm, but everything is safe.

Movies to watch? I can't help you there, my friend. During those type days, I'm all about some creative and intellectual stimulation via reading or writing. A slow deep horror story that doesn't use a lot of sound would be ideal.

I like when it's raining a little bit, but it's not cold. That or when it's POURING. Like, the kind of rain that washes tiny animals away

For a movie on a rainy day, I'd suggest "Dark Water", definitely.

I love thunderstorms! Here's a picture of a nice wall cloud from a storm last summer.

I prefer fierce, booming thunderstorms with driving rain, howling wind, and intense lightning...

Yes, that was the type of thunderstorm it was, this was just how it looked as it approached. I was out taking a quick jaunt with my dog before it started raining. The wind was just starting to pick up. And the air had that "feel" to it that it gets right before a good thunderstorm. Mmmm, love that feeling!

Ahh, good suggestions from all. And I don't have any of those movies! But I'm going through the shelf of available thingies, and will pick something. In the interim I have "Nightmare In Blood" on (with the commentary track) which is not scary at all...in fact, it is probably one of the most non-scary of all horror movies! But it is weirdly entertaining and just weird all around.

The movie I watch will probably be on the subtle side, like possibly "The Changeling" because I have that.

I love good thunderstorms, because I always love watching horror movies at that time (though I usually watch them all the time). It puts a great feel into the film. I lo9ve the rain! Except when I want to go somewhere at the time instead. That just pisses me off!

Aha!

The film chosen for tonight's viewing, and it's working out just fine, is...

TUM TA TA TUM!

"WEREWOLF SHADOW"
(aka The Werewolf vs. Vampire Woman)

I have had it for a while, but have not had time to sit down and really watch it. But it is fun!

And yes, I too love, as in love love love, the sound of rain, it is nature's best music.

I hate you.:D We live right on the other side of the Apalaichain mountains. They always knock off our better storms. It pisses me off.

Give me a huge thunderstorm any day. It's better than icecream.

Here's an idea for you folks: thunderstorm and ice cream AT THE SAME TIME. Woot!

Nothing better than laying outside just before the rain at about dusk and watching the lightning jump around in the clouds. It's dark but not pitch black yet and the light show is great. Then you get a nice relaxing storm afterward. Had kind of a cool storm here a week or so back, started raning but turned to snow pretty quickly. Watching the snow come down with thunder and lightning is amazing.

Oooohhhh! Vanilla Bean!! Real Vanilla Bean!!!! vanilla bean vanilla bean...whoah!

Looks like more rain today, will watch vampire and zombie movies while making horror dolls. "Horror of Dracula" is on the list, hammerfan, if you wanna come over. Also Fulci's ZOMBIE, for sure.

we've got sun (not that it does me much good in my cubicle) - and its melting away much of the snow - -- -can winter be winding down for the beleagured northeast?? (I doubt it -probably a few more frozen periods before the much awaited thaw) -- - but ice cream makes it all worthwhile!

Interesting topic. It's hard to imagine that though considering how SUNNY it is here. NOT a cloud in the sky. :p

Ditto, looks nice and calming, best of all, there's no sun.

I love the rain. If I'm not doing anything at the time I'll go out on the balcony, listen to some music and write.

I live in Minnesota so we get some really good storms in the spring (coming up soon!), summer and even in the fall sometimes. The one in the picture was actually in late summer/early fall, because there were some fallen leaves already that were blowin' around. I think I missed my calling, I should have been a meteorologist and a storm chaser on the side.

Ice Cream for a storm, either Rocky Road or Ben and Jerry's Cherry Garcia.

we don't get as much rain as I would love
in my part of new zealand..
But when it does ..'sigh'..along with a power cut...
my favourite time ever.
I lay on the bed with my husband and the kids drag small couches into our room and put thier feet up on the bed ..and we just talk..joke around..etc.
Its really nice. 'sigh'

Elvis has got it sweet where he is..
He gets snow..
would you believe 95% of new zealanders
have enver seen snow..other from what they have seen on t.v

The rain in itself is enough for me...I find it not so much a time of thought, as a time to clear ones mind, and become immersed in the sounds, smells and feeling of the weather.
I spend my first 5 years on a RAAF base, in the country...moderately sized house in a valley area with a tin roof...it rained a lot there, and it was amplified upon the roof, you wouldn't think so, but to this day I find no sound more relaxing.
Storms and rain, floods and lightening...things of my past that make me feel complete.

Considering my dad is the dickhead of the century, I would almost wish I was your daughter. I don't just mean he's grouchy or sometimes grumpy, I mean he is verbally (serious name calling), and emotionally abusive. Also he has threated to choke me, beat me with a pool stick and just general kick my ass. Yes I am almost 28yrs. old

No I'm not in a healthy situation. Quite the opposite. The only reason I stick around is because of my mum. She's the most awesome person in the world.

If it weren't for my mum, I'd gladly except.

The other day I was setting down a six pack of cokes, and out of the blue he says, "If something happened to your momma I there wouldn't be any more cokes brought in this house."

I bit my tongue because I really wanted to say, and this is the fucking truth, "If something happened to mum, you wouldn't see me again."

If something were to happen to my mother, I would pack my shit, get my dogs and get the hell out of here, even if I had to live in the streets.

Thanks, Hammerfan. You da best!

ONE MORE DAY!!! Get your excitement on! Tell the Druids I said hello!

Nothing better than a stormy Sunday afternoon...hunkering down with a movie and some snacks.
Also going to sleep with the ran tapping on the roof is quite nice.
Now.....for your listening pleasure....i shall sing.

Well, I love a rainy night
I love a rainy night
I love to hear the thunder
Watch the lightning
When it lights up the sky
You know it makes me feel good

Well, I love a rainy night
It's such a beautiful sight
I love to feel the rain
On my face
Taste the rain on my lips
In the moonlight shadow

Showers washed
All my cares away
I wake up to a sunny day
'Cos I love a rainy night
Yeah, I love a rainy night
Well, I love a rainy night
Well, I love a rainy night

Ooh-ooh
