So do any of you fine folks take time out of your busy lives watching horror movies to pump some iron at the local gym?

I know I do, Ive gone 4 times in the last 3 days. Im not in the greatest shape, so I try to get over there as much as possible. Been going since around November, and Im already looking and feeling better.

My usual workout consists of 20 minutes on one of their many cardio machines, followed by close to an hour on various weight machines. I like to switch it up sometimes though, for example today I did 40 min of cardio, a few sets of crunches, and no weights.

How about you folks?

I'm a skinny tattoo young man, that aint my scene.

Plus joining a gym is usually so expensive, I never have that kind of money.

Yeah I usualy work out with free weights at home but I go to the gym when I can. I like the gym for the boxing ring and heavy bags plus the basketball and racquetball courts. I think I'm going to get a total gym though, just to have something different than boring ole' free weights.

i go 4 or 5 days a week - there's a gym where i work. . . like Return i do about 15-20 minutes cardio for warm-up and then free weights and machines targetting a specific body area each day and then cool down with another 20 minutes of light cardio

my general routine: Day 1: Back and Biceps; Day 2: Chest and Legs; day off or just cardio; Day 3: Shoulders and Triceps; Day 4: focused ab work out; Day 5: (if i fit it in) light chest and biceps.

I lift 3 days a week after school, switching to 5 days a week in the summer. Ive been doing this for 4 years now. When I was little I always had dreams of being a bodybuilder so ever since I got into football I decided to try to become the biggest and strongest kid in my high school

I will usually have a ten minute stretch then I do about 15 mins of different cardio like

Speed training
6 inches ( Hard as hell )
and different core exercises

I then do my lift, which is usually as intense as I can make it.
I like to build mass so I lift with heavy weights usually untill failure.

If you guys really like to help your muscles out you should deffinatly pick up some protein from GNC your muscles will love you for it.

I suggest getting Probolic-SR

Not a damn thing:p. I dont do those, I stick to the specialised machines mostly.

EDIT- Hotlink wouldn't work. See below for image.

I can only manage about 80 pounds on that, which is basically a bench press. As I said, Im a bit of a weakling, hence why I go to the gym:p

As I said, Im a bit of a weakling, hence why I go to the gym:p Heh...I was doing 120 when I was 14...Had 16 inch biceps....Had to quit working out at 19 because I wanted to try to have a baby when I was 20...Doctor said I HAD to quit, cuz it would be bad for a baby....When they cut my uterus open for my first c-section it sounded like hard rubber snapping... the doctor (different doctor than the one that told me to quit) asked, "Do you do 500 situps a day or WHAT?...I've never seen anything like this"...I said, "Nah...I just weight trained for years"...Mostly bench pressing...Squats are a real bitch, makes your legs feel funny, like they're gonna slip out from under ya, if ya walk up the stairs right afterward...Which I always did, cuz I worked out in the basement.......OH...And.....I never had a spotter.....Ever have to ROLL a bar with 120 pounds across your chest (hurts a bit if you're a chick), down your stomach, and onto your hips so you could sit up and get out from under it, after fizzling out on the 10th rep?....Sux...

I used to belong to a local gym before I said to hell with it,waiting in line for different machines and wiping other guy's ass sweat of the seats was'nt for me.I use my bench and weights at home now but my cardio is basically non existent...when it gets a little warmer I think I'll try running.

I do all my lifting at home, I have everything I need here except for a leg press machine and cross-over cables. I've never cared much for gyms. Mainly for the same reasons that mothermold stated.

I'm impressed. Thats heavy weight for most women. Not to mention a 14 year old.

I have some dumbells at home, with about 20kgs on each. It's not much, but I don't really lift to increase in size, I'm large enough in the arms/shoulders dept anyway...I just do it to keep 'em as they are.
I don't belong to a gym, but when my mountainbike's roadworthy (busted tyre) I ride quite a bit, not to mention I walk quite a bit everyday. At college I have a lot of chopping and mixing and carrying heavy stuff, so, yeah, that does me for now.
I would LIKE to establish a more cardio/abs based system...when I have time, I'll be getting on to that.

As far as supplements I'm getting more into stacking different things. I like Xyience but I've just started experimenting with this stuff. Used to be big into protein and then some creatine but then went to mostly B vitamins for energy.

Factor into that the fact that I weighed between 115 and 120 consistently until I was 20, and had Seri....I hate to sound arrogant, but at that time...I agree that it WAS impressive...But, it was kinda like a personal thing for me...I think the biggest reason I wanted to do it was that I was told that it 'probably' couldn't be done....Once I got into it, the personal satisfaction kept me going...The fact that I was always physically strong to begin with, even as a child, played a big part in trying to find out how far I could go, too...

Also...Arm wrestling competitions in the cafeteria at school...Even the football players couldn't beat me (I was kinda cute though...Maybe they gave me a break...BUT, They sure looked like they were trying...And I don't know too many guys that would willingly 'lose to a girl').....Actually...When ya think about it...They were kinda screwed either way....I mean, what's worse than being beaten by a girl?...Beating a girl?

Oh well....It was a hell of a lotta fun anyway

AND...There really aren't a whole hell of a lotta guys that can beat me NOW......Shane can't....Rich can't...DUSTIN can't:p

Etcetera...

good luck Z - you can do it!

(as a person who gained a lot of weight in college and then lost [most] of it - i think the most important thing is just to get into a routine of regular activity/exercise - i really got back into hiking in the mountains, and then started going to a gym for some stair-climbing or treadmill - nothing too strenuous, just starting to get in the habit of physical activity - - - add to this a controlled but realistic diet (including some healthier snacks during those hungry periods) and it can all work).

congrats on quitting smoking - a great step!!

I dont go to the gym as such but up till a few months ago, i'd been doing various martial arts for the last 13 years.

Have been doin kickboxing for the last two. S'cool cos you can get fit and enjoy beating your mates up at the same time.
