View Full Version : We Got Robbed!

Yes indeed, my apartment was burglarized. The assholes took our $2000 plasma TV, a 19-inch portable LCD TV, two DVD players, our awesome surround sound system, and my roommates computer, digital camera, Armani suits, a TON of cash, diplomas, etc. And to add insult to injury, they stole my nearly full bottle of Bombay Sapphire gin from the fridge. What a bummer this is. I swear I'd pound these guys to a bloody pulp if I just knew who did it.

No, this thread doesn't really have a point. I just needed to vent.

I must say yes, that sucks. I may be jumping the gun, but it sounds like you're pretty well off....soooo, you should have insurance for times like these?

@Marroe: Yes, we do have renter's insurance, thank god. If not, we'd be up a certain creek sans paddle. As for being well-off... well, not that much really. Everything we had, we saved and worked our asses off for.

@STE: We were both gone at the time, a date for me, class for my roomie. I don't think I would have slept through that! And yeah, they took his diploma and notary public certification. Pretty weird, huh?

Damn that sucks! Hope you get your stuff back (still curious as to why they took the diplomas)!

BTW, if your roommate's computer got stolen, then how are you using the computer right now? Or are you using your computer or laptop?

Yeah, I'm on my computer. I still can't figure out why they took his and not mine... I mean, I'm glad they didn't, but it's just strange.

Maybe they only needed one. Or just didn't notice it. I'm pretty sure they were eyeing those diplomas though. Why the hell would you steal diplomas?!? Why?!?

Armani suits?.....the bastards.

To be honest with you, i wouldn't know an Armani from a J C Penny suit.

It must really suck though......i think people who break into a house or apartment, and steal like that should be put to death......really.....just take the fuckers out into the street and put a bullet into their slimy heads.

If I was you I'd believe it was an inside job. Why would they only take 1 comp and not the other, they would get more for 2 instead of 1 comp and diplomas. I mean maybe they wanted his identity. his diplomas his comp (with credit card info, dl number, etc...) so it's a matter of either he did it for the money, or there are very smart thieves out there. my opinion.

The STE

also: they picked a good time to take a lot of stuff (it's hard to get some of the stuff they took out in any sort of condition to transport quickly), so, could've been an inside job

HAhaHAhaHahAHaHAHa!
YOU GOT SERVED!!
Ah well...you didn't say your place was broken into either, so someone's a complete fucking idiot (considering the stuff in the place), or it was a setup, sooo....you and the rest of your evidently dishonest friends will have to start keeping a better eye on eachother...

having been burgalarized(??) 3 times, it sucks. (first time back door kicked in, second time a roommate left the front door open, third time an open window in summer)

the worst is the feeling of violation - i remember each time sitting up late at night with a baseball bat somehow imagining they would come back. . . my sympathies

Q: Are you a drug dealer?

The Armani suits give you away.

Er... of course... not...

Actually, I only had two for special occasions, and I didn't pay for 'em.

Yeah, I stole them. Sure enough.

Actually, this was a pretty damn lame experience, so if you can't stop yourself from being a jerk about it, just don't reply to this thread. Thanks.

The thieves felt guilty and have brought all the gear back, I would have thought.

Well, the useless police didn't find any of our stuff, of course, but the insurance company did pay up, at least. So we've got everything replaced now, and all that's left of the experience is crappy memories and a distrustful attitude.
