Why was everyone speaking so highly of this film? Ghosts are the main thing that scare me in horror films, and this movie had 0 scares. A couple creepy scenes, but that by no means makes it a great film. I'd give it a 3/10

Are you refering to the American Pulse, or the Asian Kairo (aka Pulse)?

take a peek in the Japanese movie section (where this thread probably belongs) to see what people here think of it.

Holy fuckballs.. yes, I was talking about Kiaro. I didn't know it would cause everyone to have a stroke trying to figure it out :(

Hmmm... I don't really think Kurosawa set out to make Kairo a straight-out "scare the pants off you" type film. It's much more a study of isolation and nihilistic despair than it is a straight horror movie. Anyway, I thought it was a brilliant film, one of my favorites now, in fact.

I thought this was an excellent movie, much more than I expected.I assumed this was going to be a simple ghost story tale in the tradition of your standard J-horror films,it's much more than that in terms of scope and storytelling...it's apocalyptic and has become a favorite of mine aswell.
