How long does it take before you pretty much know what's gonna happen in a movie?...Can you figure out the killer, who's gonna get killed, who's gonna live, etcetera, within the first half hour?
I think we've seen so many horror movies, we could practically write the rest of a movie 20 minutes after it starts...Hell, I can usually figure out what ORDER people are gonna die in...
Anyway...Have any movies ever caught you guys completely by surprise?...You thought something was gonna happen and something completely different happened?...Someone died that you thought was gonna live?...Someone lived that you just KNEW was gonna die?...Any endings ever shock you?
For me:
The Curve...Did NOT see that ending coming
Night Of The Living Dead...Ben should have LIVED...Dammit!!!...At least in the remake he was actually a zombie when they killed him...It still kinda sucked, but it wasn't like he had stayed alive all that time just to be taken out for no reason...I think the remake kinda made up for the original's ending...I was much more satisfied with it that way
I know there are lots more...But, that's all I got right this second...
Your turn:)

Scream. But Since they sort of made it to be obvious. I knew who the killers were, and that the boob chick was toast from the 1st 10 minutes. I just didn't think that Courtney Cox would survive.
I think the DOTD remake was a little trickier, since there were more people, and it was sort of random how they died, and i never guessed that the man who shot himself at the end would have gotten it.

When I was younger and saw Old Yeller for the first time I didn't expect that. Oh, and I don't remember the movie as well as the book but I think Where the Red Fern grows surprised me some. Hmmmm... I saw Fallen when it first came out and didn't expect that ending either.

arrrrrrrrrrghhhh..movie spoilers..
Do you let the whole household know the outcome??
My husband and child are the worst culprits ever for this.
It doesn't matter if its a repeat of a movie..i still like to watch it ..narrative free..
but these 2..!!acks..no matter what it is..they will predict out loudly what they think may happen..and when it does ..they are like ..SEEEEEEEEEE I TOLD YOU !!

I dont think ANYONE can say they predicted the ending to The 6th Sence before it was common knowledge.
Another one that surprised me was Mindhunters. I was way off predicting that one, they guy I had pegged from the start as the killer was the first to die, and the guy who wound up being the killer was pretty high on my "Next to Die" list. Good movie really, it has it's flaws, but still enjoyable.

Yeah...I didn't expect that one...However...It may have been the reason that I DID know how The Others was gonna end up...About halfway through...

I have to say, the ending to Saw took me completely by suprise.
Also, the ending to NOTLD still pisses me off when Ben dies.

That's cuz it's so terribly out of left field.

IN reference to the 6th sense and the vililage,
it is a challenge for M. Night to come up with suprise
endings now that we know he is famous for it...
THe Villiage would have went over better if we never
heard of the guy...
It's kind of disappointing really, along comes a guy
and shocks the world with a movie and now for every
movie he makes, we know expect a twist.
I can't wait for Lady in the Water.

i agree on SAW - - the minute he stood up i said to the person i was with "how did he not have to go pee the whole time he was there?" - hell I had to pee twice during the stinking movie - and i wasn't lying on the floor caked in gook
the one that totally got me was The Crying Game. I saw it with a bunch of friends who had already seen it and i kept turning to my friend Brian and saying 'oh, the twist ending is going to be 'this' or 'that'" and then as the big, uhm, reveal came all my friends turned towards me and my jaw dropped. . . .never ever saw that, u hm, coming (well, if I'd seen it 'coming' it would've been a whole different kind of film- but you get my point).
