I would have to agree with that totally!

I've owned a lot of different releases of NOTLD. The Milennium Edition is the best looking, best sounding version, and it has a full rack of special features, I mean, I don't even know how they fit everything on a one-sided disc. It's enough stuff to keep you going for several hours...two different commentaries, short subjects like George Romero's TV commercials, still galleries. It's even got the short spoof "Night of the Living Bread," which I like a lot too.

I have rambled on praising this version before, so I apologize for going into it again, but...this is the disc. Especially if you can get it for around fifteen bucks, it's totally worth it.

Being that Im not a big fan of Special Features, I'd have to say one of the many versions that are packaged with other films. For instance, I got my copy on a disc with the original versions of House on Haunted Hill and Nosferatu for $7! All three have great picture/sound quality, although they have next to no Special Features. There's a written biogarphy about William Castle, and thats about it. Still, well worth the $7:D

Here it is:

Easily one of the best remakes ever, right up there with The Thing or The Fly. The actors, for the most part, are perfectly cast, the effects are well improved, and the story, while only changed slightly, is pretty cool. While it has a different ending than the original, it still has a very cool, unexpected ending. Overall, it doesnt live up to Romero's classic, but it's still a great horror movie.
