So, Im lucky enough to have a few theaters fairly close by that show old movies. The one in Berkeley shows Evil Dead 1 & 2 every couple months or so, and theres nothing like Evil Dead on the big screen. Im having a brainfart though, and I just cant come up with the name of the theater right now. How about you guys? Got any movie houses in your towns where you can catch old horror movies on the big screen?

Anybody still got any drive-ins around where you live? We've got three...We saw Blair Witch Project at a drive-in that was completely surrounded by woods...The movie was cheesy, but imagine seeing it outside, at night, surrounded by woods, sitting in a lawn chair, with bats flying across the screen...That rocked...BTW...The second feature that night was Deep Blue Sea...We liked that one...:)

Nobody here plays old horror movies :0( But the Beartooth (it's great, movies AND beer, and not just beer, but dark Alaskan brewed beer) plays older movies once in a while. Unfortunately, they're never horror.

And drive-ins? Man, I went to Denver 2 years ago and went to my first drive-in movie since 1989 (we used to go to the drive-in all the time when I was a kid in California). Nobody in Alaska will open a drive-in, though. Too many risks involved. Damn snow!

We don't have anything cool like that here. We have a 2 show theater with uncomfy chairs. Your shoes stick to the floor too. Ick. I leave town to see movies. Luckily it's only half an hour to Idaho Falls!:p And yeah, snow does suck. It totally causes our roads to be nothing but ice here.

In NYC there are a few places that show horrors. Angelika had Bubba Hotep and Bruce Campbell spoke there opening weekend, Landmark's Sunshine Cinema just played the Japanese zombie flick, Versus. They're doing Midnight Movies and played Rock n' Roll High School lately. Two Boots Pioneer theater played Donnie Darko at midnight for months. Brooklyn has the BAM Rose Cinema where they played the Evil Dead Trilogy and Bruce was there too. I guess he comes to NYC pretty often! That's the beauty of the big city, lots of cultural opportunities. But no drive ins :(

1/2 an hour! I'd have to drive through all of Alaska (and there's a WHOLE lot of Alaska), through some crappy ass parts of Canada and then... do they have many drive-ins in Washington?

It's all good though - I wouldn't trade places with most people anyway. The only places that I've been that had drive-ins are places where there are WAY too many people. I wouldn't trade the traffic for a drive-in.

Weve got a couple of them out here. Every few weeks me and my friends get on our mtn bikes and head over to the drive in. We fill up our backpacks with beer, food, and folding chairs and stay out there for 2-3 movies, then ride home.

We've got the Kentucky Theater in Lexington that plays old horror flicks every Halloween. Usually the Evil Deads, The Exorcist, and Rocky Horror. Stuff like that.

Also, there are still a few drive-ins around. They usually only play the summer blockbusters though.
