Has anybody seen a current release date on this? I'm always curious when I see a "re-imagining" of a film coming out. I thought it was going to be the original in 3D but it doesn't seem that way. Oh, and why is Joshua DesRoches playing Ben? Sig Haig's going to be in it too... this could go either way.

i can't wait! I just hoped today that they would remake this soon... And I REALLY hope that the zombies are fast like in the DOTD remake... That would be INTENSE for this movie.

God I hope not... that would be the final straw. Slow zombies create much more tension especially in a situation like the original NotLD. What would fast zombies bring to the table anyway? Would they run around the farmhouse instead? I saw the IMDB thing (that's how I found out that skinny white guy would be Ben), I just hope it's good... it will either be great or horrible I think.

I agree that they create rising tension, but, if any of the people wanted to, they could casually walk out of the farmhouse, out of the woods, and out of everything without a single cut on them. And thats a fact because i've seen the remake and original, and people were 2 feet away and safe. Also, people said that about the remake of DOTD, and it turned out spectacular. Plus, the zombies don't run everywhere... just when they spot something they want.

Thanks Ravage, so it is supposed to be this year still. GREAT!
Also Posh, if the zombies were runners they simply wouldn't go outside because it wouldn't be possible. So you'd have zombies doing sprints around a house they can't get into right? I don't know, there's probably a good way of doing it with fast zombies but I don't think the location is conducive to runners. Just my opinion though.

Maybe I'm not. Can you explain your thoughts on it? Do you have a certain scene or two that plays out in your head? I'm willing to think about it but like I said, if the story and settings will stay faithful I just can't imagine a scene where runners will be better except for maybe the initial chase into the farmhouse. If you have a scene in your and don't want to post it, PM it to me, I'm interested.

The way i see you thinking about it is, the zombies just run rampantly around the house like a school trackteam, but thats not what i mean. If you've seen the remake of dotd, they don't dash everywhere. and they can kindof climb and stuff too, which is scary.
Scenes? Barbara running from the one zombie at the beggining while he's fast!
Also I think it'd be good if the scene when the daughter comes back had her being fast. She could be hiding up in the ceiling somewhere, and collapse down on her mother out of nowhere, run at her dad up the stairs... it would just be so much more intense that way.

That does sound cool but there a few things I would worry about. I'd be upset if they had to change the film too much just to fill time because with smarter and faster zombies there would have to be more material. I also think it wouldn't be as tense because there wouldn't be much for these zombies to do. I like the scenes with the people running by and knocking down zombies just barely escape the cold grasp of the undead. Tense stuff. I guess it all depends on the movie though. I think with faster zombies like you said it will be more intense and action packed but with slow zombies it would be more suspensful, tense, and methodical. Now I want to see it done both ways... heh.

So... it'll be released this month? March? I'm not so much anticipating it, as just wanting to see how it turned out.

this one doesnt look as great. still, the slow walking DOES make it more dramatic. The running makes you pound your heart, but the walking just keeps your chest sucked in like the vaccuum of space.

I have decided for everytime I see the word INTENSE on this site I'm going to kill a puppy (a really cute one) save the puppies and find a new adjective.:D

Why use a new word? If you find a word that fits what you're trying to decribe just use it. Nothing bugs me more than some jackass with a thesaurus rattling off words they don't really know and often times using them out of context.
INTENSE!!!

I'm happy to see that another remake of NotD is coming out. From the preveiw it looks like the good ol' shamblers are back and since everyone else has an opinion on the running dead here are my two cents.
Running zombies are a big joke...thank you.

What? No release date?
To be honest, I wasnt very impressed by the trailer. It looks very cheap. I'll watch it just because it's 3-D...but Im none too excited.

The trailer had me less excited. I don't mind remakes really, I enjoy them if they're alright, but did you see the motorcyclist clothesline that one zombie? That looked awful.

Aside from the drive-by-clothesline I actually thought the trailer looked pretty solid.

Really? It seemed to me like they were trying to "update" the classic intro to NotLD with the whole "They're coming to get you Babera..." thing done with a cellphone text message. I want to see the movie, don't get me wrong, but that part looks BAD.
