His name has come up a lot since Sin City ..
So what the hell .. lets pay yhe man his dues :

I have always thought this guy was a brilliant actor ..
he made some bad choices .. but he was brilliant.
Directors still recognize this fact and he's getting work again - after a long and rocky spell.

here are the films that matter :

1) Rumblefish
2) Pope of Greewich Villiage
3) Diner
4) Year of the Dragon
5) Barfly
6) Johnny Handsome
7) Homeboy
8) Harley Davidson and the Marlborough man (yeah - i like it)
9) Sin City
10) Angel Heart

want to see him steal a movie where he only has a small part :

- The Pledge
- White Sands
- Once Upon a Time in Mexico

Cheers Mickey ..

(the 1st 4 are my favorite 4 .. in that order... the rest are in no order)

Ive only seen him in Sin City and Angel Heart, but he completly stole both of them. If said it before and Ill say it again, but there is, nor ever was, anyone better suited to play Harry Angel.

I did see Once Upon a Time in Mexico, but I dont really remember his character. To be honest, I dont remember much at all other than Johnny Depp's character...at the time I loved it, but looking back Id call it the weakest of the trilogy, simply for the fact that the other two were more memorable.

*ahem* I love Harley Davidson and the Marlboro Man. I am a big Mickey Rourke fan as well; Sin City, Angel Heart and Johnny Handsome rock. :D

He is a very good actor. I've never been a big fan of him or anything, but i sure as hell respect him.

a clothing store dummy could have played that roll ..
it was as if rourke stayed home and sent in a guy who looked like him..

i hate that movie .. it was the worse choice he ever made..

(even worse than Prayer For the Dying)

That's when he killed a bunch of kids right?

If so, I thought it was alright.

Yeah, I've seen rumblefish, and sin city, barfly also...he was fucking great in those.

I first saw HD&TMM when I was about 12, so of course I loved it...I've seen it since, it's er....not great....but still, it's fun.

I also saw him play a small part as in "kinda" drag in a movie called "animal factory", not a great part.

I haven't seen him in Domino yet, but that looked plenty cool, and I'm still hanging out to see it as soon as I can...I think it's between cinema and dvd now though.

He's also set to reprise his role as Marvin in sin city 2...which could work, because sin city crosses back and forth in time, various events happening to various people, different perspectives and all that...he's not "dead", he's just dead.
